Identity Design for the User Interface
Update: In an effort to broaden up the topics for discussion, I'm going to be throwing a wider net of conversation at my forthcoming Future of Web Design workshop. Previously the workshop was to be geared specifically around icon design. Now we'll simply be discussing icon design in the grander scheme of designing a holistic web application identity.
A lot of work goes into building the visual identity and coherency of a site like IconBuffet, Blinksale, Authentic Boredom, or Corkd. We're going to be discussing how color (or colour), texture, depth, typography, and iconography are married together to craft a remarkable identity on the web. This should be a lot of fun.
