Did anybody of you also fall for the account 'Neda' (there were 2 or 3 similar to that) and sent some icons? I assume the account is closed cause they sort of intruded the area illegaly or so... What a pity I spent my last stamps on the as***les.

Oh. Hmm. I thought that we'd get our stamps back if we sent deliveries to an account that was later closed by a Chef (rather than by the users themselves, as that could lead to a different type of cheating). Is that not the case? Bummer, I've a feeling I wasted quite a few stamps on such deliveries. =(

You will get them back I'm sure, after 7 days though - relax the chefs are pretty fair when it comes to these sorts of things
iqon on Apr 19, 2007
you sent a delivery to the account that was not accepted then you will get the stamps back. The concern is if the set you sent was accepted, now your stamps are gone unless the chefs provide a little theft protection for your account.
justG on Apr 19, 2007
Exactly. I'm not talking about expired deliveries. Like iqon said, I'm talking about deliveries accepted by blatantly "false" accounts that are later caught and shut down.

But you still get the points, so you're not penalized for it.

Yes, we did shut those accounts down... but you did / will receive points from successful trades or your stamps back with 7 days for non-successful trades. Nobody should be penalized for being duped by bogus accounts.

I might be in the minority here, and I certainly don't mean to nit-pick, but I would rather get my stamps back than get the points. Frankly, I don't want points from those deliveries. Those people are no longer active, participating members of our community, and I would much rather get my stamps back so that I can deliver icons to those who *are* [active participants]. I'll reiterate that I'm only talking about accounts shut down by the Chefs; I'm not suggesting anything that might facilitate the whole cheating thing.
If that could be considered, thanks; if not, well, that's cool too. =)

I suspect you are in the minority there, justG. ;) Stamps are basically unconverted points in my view; as long as you get to keep the points, it's all good.

What about receiving icons from accounts that get closed? When IB frist went live, there were some people who had sets disappear because they received them from accounts that were closed afterwards.
iconmaster on Apr 19, 2007
You don't lose a set because the giver gets shut down. I'm not sure that was ever the case, though I may have explained it incorrectly before.
davethegr8 on Apr 19, 2007
Ah. I thought I saw/heard/was in an instance of that. Must've been confused. That's not too uncommon.
