Make and share your custom t-shirt designs
So you might recall how my boss blocked my access to iconbuffet a while back. Even if you don't, the good news is I should be allowed to access IB again. Why? I finally finished (mostly) the big project I've been on at work.
Truth is, whenever I'd have some particularly difficult bit of coding to do, I'd "think about how I should tackle it" by checking out the forum at IB. ;) Finally my boss realized I'd never get it done unless I had some digital blinders. I can't blame him.
Since you folks were there when I needed you, I want to share my pride with you. You might even think it's kind of cool.
T-shirts.Dyetub.com is a site where people can make and share cool t-shirt designs. I hope you like it. And, whatever you think, I hope you let me know.
Incidentally, if you watch the "how easy it is" movie, that's me narrating it. :D And, if you want to see my inspired designs, here's my profile page. ;)

That's pretty nifty!

Thanks Jen! :)

I already see some new designs popping up. Any IB members want to out their creations? :)

Um. Kinda cool? Not really.
IT'S TREMENDOUSLY COOL! :-O
I am never going to meet another deadline at work if I hang out at Dyetub any more right now. LOL
I'm still noodling on the front design, so here's a severely stupid question, forgive me if it says so somewhere (I'm having too much fun playing with my design to go RTFM haha): will it be possible to do a front-and-back designed shirt? And the agony! I can make a design, but I can't order a shirt made with my design? Egad! Say it ain't so!

Thanks for the feedback mira!
You've hit on two planned features I left out of the first version. There's actually quite a few things in the works but it was about time to get something for people to try out. :)
For now, t-shirts.dyetub.com is mostly about creating and sharing cool t-shirt ideas.

Can't wait to see how the site develops. The sheer flexibility of how you can place and size your design had me looking so intensely at my monitor, trying to get it juuuuuust perfect that my boss probably figured, "Damn, she just works SO hard. She should take a nice vacation or something." ROFLMAO :D :D :D
Plus, being able to browse an entire library of images takes a lot of guesswork out of creating your own design. Plus up to six ink colors? I loved that! Keep up the terrific work, you've got a fan here! :D

Definitely kinda cool, but I have to say with the biggies like Cafepress, Zazzle and Spreadshirt already out there, you've got some stiff competition, and with them you can already customise and buy your creation. It's nice as something just to play around with, but I imagine most people are gonna want the opportunity to be able to buy what they come up with.

FA brings up an excellent point -- that's one of the features I was looking for when I was just halfway through my design.
If you do decide to integrate that, I do think the flexibility your site gives in terms of control over the design will be really attractive. One thing, though -- I was happy to rummage through the clipart to build my design, but it would be awesome if I could upload my own image too. :)

Being able to turn your design into an actual t-shirt is something that is absolutely going to be part of it. There's going to be more than one way to get your design on a t-shirt, but I'm not going to say more than that for right now. ;)
Image uploads are actually already built-in, but currently turned off... a few issues to work out there as far as how uploaded images fit into the community of the site.

Soooo... getting all that done means you don't have much time to hang around the Buffet? Well, that sucks. LOL
Good for us noodlers, though. :D

Good Luck on the Shirt Designing site.
I'm one of those that are already designing shirts with Cafepress. We have a couple of store with them. The online t-shirt business is definitely very profitable. Hope you make lots of money. Good Luck.
