My thoughts - a bit of feedback

The other week, before I happened upon IconBuffet, I was asked to lead a presentation at work on online communities and what makes them successful. We narrowed it down to a few things:

1. Must be populated, active and responsive.
2. Must have a solid base of "expert" members.
3. Must not become cliquish - remain responsive to ALL members.

I think this place is a great example of what it takes to be successful as an online community.

There's a great base of "expert" knowledge happy to share the tips and tricks of the trade with everyone else - even new members. The blogs and message boxes are always fast moving and active and everyone approaches the site with the same vision - friendly and collaborative sharing.

Coupled with a great, unique social-networking concept and it's a great place to be a part of.

Just thought I'd share my thoughts - see it as feedback.
