Is 30 tokens enough?
I don't know about the rest of you guys but I keep running out of my tokens :( I recon we should get at least enough to get the entire month's buffet delivery!

It should be.
According to iconmaster, the Chefs don't produce more than you can consume in a VIP month. In theory, the free deliveries from the Chefs should make up for the sets you can't get in a month.
I have no idea how long that free chef delivery process will take, though.

I think the VIP's at least should get the same amount that is produced each month. As far as us "freeloaders" well we should expect no more than we get. Great post bro.

VIPs can get all the sets that are produced in a month! I think that 30 tokens are enough and help to keep a balance in the buffet. There are ways to get some extra tokens, by VIP refferals or by getting the 10k points badge (2 tokens for every 10000 points, up to ten bonus tokens).

yes for people who had all the sets from the former IB version. Now, if someone wants all of them, 30 tokens is not enough at all ... so the 10 tokens for non VIP ...

hmmm well I lost about 10 tokens when I upgraded -didn't know it just set your count to 30 (beware if you're thinking about upgrading, use all your tokens first) but again I'm out this month and I'm missing 3 sets...
and FWIW I had all the old sets before the upgrade so something's wrong somewhere...

I don't have all the sets, but I still believe that 30 Tokens is enough. Patience is part of the game here. The chefs will always release less than 30 Tokens-worth of icons each month. If you consider the Tokens that you save each month due to Chef-delivered sets, then you'll be left with a few Tokens to collect some of the past sets. Eventually, you'll have a full collection.
And, as Psy2k mentioned, there are ways to earn more Tokens.

@jbvision : hum ... if you're a VIP and the chiefs go on releasing sets for 30 tokens a month, then you'll never get all the icons ... just all the new ones. But you have already half of the sets ... don't give up !

by the way, by refilling in july 2008, you should hope to have all sets by ... 2050 ? ;o)

@Wile: See my comment above. If you consider the free sets delivered by the Chefs, you'll have a few spare Tokens each month to receive past sets.
P.S. If your refill date is listed in 2008, you should contact the Chefs ASAP.

my refill was today ... so everything's all right for me, but that was not the case for JB not so long ago ...
And last month, the small amount of spare tokens is not enough ... JB has half of the sets. So if he wants to get them all, he sould need lots of them ... I'm too lazy to count them exactly ;o) but they might be more than dozens tokens !

Then it sounds like it's time to start referring some VIPs. ^_-
It really works, you just have to be patient and be willing to try for some of those bonus Tokens.
If it's really that important to you, try being more selective with your deliveries and only accept the sets that you need/want. Decline the unwanted sets until the very end.

@timgaunt - actually your tokens were not lost. I happened to innocently experiment with this when I was talking with someone that became a VIP on their renewal date. I sent them High Seas, which used their 10 tokens, then when they upgraded, they only received 20 tokens. That may have been because it was so close to renewal (within 24 hours), but I would suppose that it is also a safeguard to prevent people from gaming the system to get 40 tokens per month by non-renewing their monthly membership.

And by the way, I had 5 tokens left over at the end of last month. So that would have been 1 gold, or 5 bronze, or 1 silver & 2 bronze.

I have half the sets as I was concentrating on the bronzes in order to get stamps, now I have to try to get the big stuff and the tokens don't go as far with those even though I do have several VIP referrals.

@gswd no idea, all I know is that before I signed to be a VIP I had 8 tokens or something like that, hadn't accepted any new deliveries, went VIP and I had a flat 30 (rather than 38) after I'd paid for the year's subscription. It's not a biggie tbh just an observation :)

30 tokens should be enough to collect every set for the month and pick up a "back issue" or two. Keep in mind that you'll get one or three of those sets token-free.

@gswd - it is possible to get 40 Tokens in a month. The key is to spend all your Tokens and upgrade the following day. If you upgrade on the same day as you've used Tokens your spent Tokens for the day will be deducted from your 30.
It is possible, but tricky, to get 50 Tokens in 3 Days. Lets say someone has not used any Tokens for the month and their refill date is tomorrow. They spend their 10 Tokens Today, then when they refill tomorrow they spend those. Then on Saturday they upgrade to VIP and they will get another 30 Tokens. Bear in mind in trying this that IB days are Midnight to Midnight CST, so users in other than CST will have to adjust their times accordingly.
