Message Center?

I am assuming that all the little status messages like "So-and-so has added you as a friend!" are merely system messages and by clicking on the trashcan next to them, it just removes that message. I have a bunch of these messages and don't want to delete them if by doing so cancels a friendship or other event.

If there's no yes/no response available, then yes -- it's just a notification and you can delete it safely.

I was wondering the same thing, as it's not clear. Finally I gave in and just tried it; I figured if I accidentally "ended" a "friendship," I'd just re-add the person. But nope, it just got rid of the message (which was a relief, because they were piling up).
