Mine is being hand delivered - all the way from England. Yes, I'm a Harry Potter uber fan and I prefer the British publications - they are different than the ones published in USA.
pre-ordered for delivery--I need to stay out of the stores to avoid hearing someone shout out the ending. Will be on media shut down for the duration of the read, assuming I can pry it out of my daughter's hands.
taario - do you believe they're all real? I looked at the 'final' page of it in the photos, and the page #'s don't match up with amazon/borders/bn's actual page #'s of the book - neither the UK, nor the US version

I got my "Hogwart's Express" pass from my local Books-A-Million, so that all I have to do is go in and pick it up. Of course I just started the final book in the Left Behind series (Kingdom Come) so I hope I finish it by then, otherwise my Harry Potter will be delayed.
Has anyone here seen the new movie yet? Any thoughts? I'm supposed to have a date for this one, and it is killing me that is almost a week old and we haven't been able to arrange a time to see it.
@gswd: i read a "review" of it on Wordpress.com. the dude seemed to give it an overall "thumbs-up," although he did have some complaints. i could find the URL if you want to read it...
@cheiie: I haven't seen the photos of the 500 pages, and don't plan to, but I have seen the photos of the Epilogue. It seems pretty real, but you really couldn't tell for sure. It does however seem quite a lot like Rowling's writing style, so I think it just might be a real. Not sure about the rest though.
@gswd: I saw it on opening night, I enjoyed it a lot. The plot is cut down though, the beginning is noticeable different from the book and some more important (IMO) things are cut out. For example...
... not sure if you've read the book, so this may be a spoiler ...
!MOVIE SPOILER!

... Quidditch was completely cut out, I didn't even noticed until after the movie. But the rest was super awesome. Go see it. =D
Thanks Louie and taario. I have read all the books (so far), and own all the movies on DVD. And since the got into the bigger - thicker books, it does seem that about half the story has been cut or combined from the book to make the movie time efficient. I almost wish they would just split the books into two movies.
I'm going to pick a copy up from Costco on the weekend. They always have lots of copies.
I wouldn't put any stock into anything released on the internet. An old coworker of mine was reading a .PDF of a Harry Potter book that he'd found online. He couldn't be bothered to spend the $$ on a real copy. He said he thought they were pretty good, but he didn't think that all of the heavy petting that Harry and Hermione were doing was appropriate for a kids' book.... I told him he was a sucker and a loser, and that real books could be got for free from a magical thing called the library.
I'll be waiting in line on the 20th to receive the book, I hope I get there before everyone else... last time I was number 800-something, of about 1,000 people.
I saw the movie and thought it was brilliant, out of all the films I think it captured the story of the book the best, without adding too many scenes that never happened.
@cheiie: About the pages not matching up: I also have the leaked epilogue and yeah, you're right. But thing is, the page counts at websites like Amazon, Borders, etc. usually include all the "filler" pages, like the ToC, the blank pages, etc. AND sometimes they don't get the page number correct, I remember someone commenting that for HBP the number of pages was off by 20. Just a thought. I think it's legit.
Forget standing in line at the bookshop, I'm going to go to the movie while all the snotty popcorn-throwing kiddies are at home reading their new book...
I saw the epilogue too - but again, the page #'s don't match up.
I'm not sure about writing styles - I can't tell if I want to think it reads like a 14 year old fanfic writer, or if it really does. Oh well, for me it doesn't really matter, because I'll read it anyway.

libraries *are* magical. they also have timelord technology (=bigger on the inside than on the outside), which is helpful, as my appartment does not.
