Every month, you'll get one or more free iconpacks from the designers. You can also give iconpacks to, and receive them from, any other member of the site.
* If you want to share an iconpack you have with someone, it costs you stamps (which you earn by receiving icons from other people).
* If you want to receive an iconpack someone else has offered you, it costs you tokens (which refill automatically every month).
There are three categories of icon set:
Bronze Set = 1 token for buying = 1 stamp for sending
Silver Set = 3 tokens for buying = 3 stamps for sending
Gold Set = 5 tokens for buying = 5 stamps for sending
Plus there's one Diamond Set:
Diamond Set = 10 tokens for buying = 10 stamps for sending
Then there's Points, which are the measure of how much you participate in the IB community. You earn points for referring people, for sending icons to people, for badges (see below), etc. When you reach certain points levels, you get extra permanent tokens every month.
Badges: You get badges for all sorts of things - getting specific batches of icons (eg if you get all 10 Manhattan $foo sets, you get a Manhattan badge). Some badges are just decorative, some add points (eg the 20 Silver Sets badge is worth 200 points, the Manhattan badge is worth 100 points, etc) and those points count towards your total for getting more tokens in future.

With your first 10 tokens, you can receive 10 bronze sets, or 2 gold sets, or 2 silvers and 4 bronzes, etc. Have a look through my icon sets (on my profile page, click my username to get there) and see what takes your fancy. Just send a whisper on my Box and let me know what you'd like.
