Why did I just lose 100 points?
I was at 2740. Then I logged out and back in (to see if I had any new badges that hadn't refreshed) and I was at 2640! What gives?

We changed the "rockstar" badge to be a zero-point badge, which removed 100 of your points. Sorry. It wasn't supposed to be a point-awarding badge, but I didn't know it when I entered it into the system.
The change affects everyone equally.
On the bright side, the golden halo is now worth 250 pts instead of 100. :)

Bummer, guess we can't complain that it's not fair since it's everyone. It's not much fun to watch the point total drop though.

of coarse iconmaster didn't lose any points. Just go over to his profile page and you'll see that his points don't even show. This is normal because he's the one that created this whole IconBuffet experience.
