Resizing profile images?
I'm surprised that uploaded images aren't resized. I just noticed that jasondragonkl's image was taking a while to load, and it turns out it's a 1.3MB file!

Holy moly! it's not only "heavy", it also has a size of 1996x1754px. That's a bit too large for a 48x48 avatar... Surprising really, in a community that's mostly quite graphics-savvy.
Chefs, how about a little resize-on-upload? or reject above a certain size?

Another thing I find odd is that while we can use IconBuffet icons for avatars, we cannot do so without having them scaled up to 48x48 in most places.
