CSS Zen Garden with Marseilles Cafe
At school we had a project to practice our CSS skills (I am studying in what you could call "Web Studies") and it was to re-do the famous CSS Zen Garden. I thought this was the perfect opportunity to use IconBuffet icons, especially Marseilles Cafe, which is by far one of my favorites. So here is my take on the Garden - it's not perfect across browsers (I tried but..! It's hard!) but I still like it. The funny thing is, I don't even like coffee ;)

Your work is really NICE :)

Fun! I had to do that in school as well :) I've wanted to do another one but have had trouble coming up with inspiration. I may have to steal your idea and base the design off of a icon set (not the same one).

Great job. :)

Thanks to all of you!
Shalla, go ahead with the "stealing", I think there's plenty of inspiration to find in IB sets. And let's face it, a lot of them can hardly be used in real-life projects...

I like to view it but it seems to be hanging when I click your link...I'm intrigued now... =)

The link to the css seems down. I saw it before and thought it was pretty nice though. :)

It looks very yummy. All that whipped cream and sprinkled stuff.. mmmm... =)
Oh. Right. The design is cool too! =]

That’s really nice. The CSS breaks on FF, but overall - great usage of the set and good layout.

Nice implementation of the icons, myr.
The "Garden" is the perfect place to learn from because of its variation in design and layout, despite the content remaining the same.
I've yet to do up a Garden-flavored design, but did manage to share the stage on a panel with Dave Shea at this year's SXSW and you'd think I would've brought it up (Zen Garden) at some point, but no. I did not and wish I had.
I'd encourage everyone to submit a design. Especially considering your work might end up in a publication of some sort.

It does indeed have a nice look to it. The cross browser situation is bad though. I tried it in FF, Opera, And Safari on my Mac, and it did not seem to display correctly.

Yeah, most likely not using Standards Compliant browsers in a classroom environment - though they should!. I am sure it looks fine on IE. Nice design myrheille!

I see it now, looks really good myrheille... =)

Hmm, the csszengarden domain seems to be down at the moment. It's weird that you say the CSS breaks in FF, because that's mostly what I use for testing! It looks okayish on IE, though not as good. The key thing though is "Mac" here - we have half-Mac half-PCs at school but for this particular homework I was rather late (oops!) and did not find enough time to test on Mac. Oh well. I think I might try and fix that up some time soon.
