Reseller web hosting suggestions?
Anybody have any particular recommendations for a flexible, small scale, reseller web hosting plan? Something based on space & bandwidth and not number of domains, hopefully, but that doesn't seem to be the norm. Good uptime and timely, useful service when needed are important but hand-holding levels of service not necessary. PHP5 is important, but about to update instead of already there would be okay.
I've currently got a mix of my own account with several domains on it (basically mine & family members), and various client accounts all over, to deal with. As the number of sites I manage increases, I'd like to be able to do more from one place while others can access a control panel for just their site(s). Still a mix, but not an ever-growing one where I'm logging in and out of half a dozen places in a day.
Several of the hosts I already deal with offer reseller plans, but nothing stands out to me and I'd like to explore options, maybe use a basic account with a couple of additional different providers for a while before choosing something long term.
If there's anything you think I should check out, or points to consider & compare, please let me know here or in my box. Thanks!

Wow, talk about can of worms. =) I've bounced around a few hosts in my day, and I dread moving. The research, the decision-making process, it's all a colossal pain. Whatever you do, don't select a host without first looking it up on webhostingtalk.com. That said, I've been with my current host for a few years now, and am happy with them. They're not the cheapest, not by a long shot, but you pretty much get what you pay for in this business. In my experience, they're the best of the budget hosts, and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them: HostGator.
The only real irksome thing about them, in my experience, is that their support is kind of hit-or-miss. It's usually timely, but more frequently than not, you get the impression that they didn't bother actually reading your message before responding. Sometimes a quick follow-up resolves things, sometimes you have to be a bit more persistent. They *have* gotten better in this regard in recent months, for whatever that's worth. Fortunately for me, in the three or so years I've been with them, I've rarely had occasion to contact tech support. The forums are fantastic, and simple questions are quickly and easily answered there by the community.
The link above is an affiliate link, and I will get a kickback if you use it. If that doesn't sit well with you, please ignore it and go directly to hostgator.com. =)
Hope that helps.

I've used several over the years. I'm currently with Crystal Tech. I've had good service with them and can definitely recommend them. I think I have 8 sites hosted with them.

We use Siteground mostly. I need to get my own server, I miss having root like I used to.

I currently use myhosting, and even though they're based out of Toronto, I've never had any issues with their service & they have a reseller program. Not sure if it's exactly what you're looking for though, and not sure if you'll have the "control panel" for yourself that you need.
Another that I've been strongly considering switching over to is 1&1, but again, not sure if their affiliate/reseller program is what you're looking for. Good luck!

@bjhendrick - I have been using 1&1 for probably 6 years (give or take). I've never had a problem with them.
They have a variety of server packages, including managed and root. They don't seem to offer a "reseller" server package (ie. where you rent the server and sell the space/bandwidth/etc to your customers), but I wouldn't swear to it. I may just not know how to look for it, and I am sure that if you contacted them they would be able to answer that question.

It sounds like 1&1 has good customer support, yes?
I gave siteground a call 'cause I noticed they support Drupal, and their site has tutorials, etc. But their sales pitch was so convoluted (with a point system) w/regards to their reseller pkg ... was left confused.
I will check out HostGator, and Crystal Tech.
