iB Anniversary woes

I posted this on gswd's happy anniversary indeed. But for those you might not read that post, I decided to repost it here.

do they release sets on the weekend? I thought they usually released them during the week? they get everyone's hopes up by showing them to us days in advance only to have us anxiously waiting and being at their beck and call.

This whole packrat thing maybe putting iB on the map, and bringing in money from t-shirt sales, but it's slowly driving away iB-er's and making it harder for us to put up with their beck and call. At this rate, it's going to be more like a "beck and fall." But we are expendable after all.

3 cheers! Hip-Hip Hooray! Hip-Hip Hooray! Hip-Hip Hooray!

I don't see how da Rat is going to bring people to IB, none of the stuff I see about da Rat mentions IB.

debbye on Mar 08, 2008

what is especially ironic to me is that i still cannot figure out how to play with the Rat. … and now, i don't care to.

furthermore, i don't think that you can download any of the pixels!

me2orion on Mar 08, 2008

But most iB-er's I talk to seem to think iB is changing as a result of the "rat."

i know everything and everyone changes, but if they are concerned about losing VIP's and their $40/yr, I would suggest taking care of the VIP's they have before they aren't there anymore.

ARRRR they be thinkin' me and me monkey are Simple Minds but me not be fallin' for the VIP scheme. Me just hopes the chefs not be completely furgettin 'bout us.

ah iqon with his wise words and appropriate lyrics. :) you can always bring a smile to my face, regardless of how i am feeling!

gswd on Mar 08, 2008

@debbye - as of the last time I played, and saw anything about da Rat (which has been awhile at this point), the icons were for collecting and vaulting only. No downloading and using.

01/17/2008, The chefs "release" PackRat
01/18/2008, PackRat becomes self-aware and targets IB
03/07/2008, Death of IB? (I mean, come on. The "IB Anniversary" set isn't released on the "IB Anniversary"?. Not even on the Monday after? Well, at least it was fun while it lasted...)

At least Apple made good when they borked the iPhone early adopters. Ahhhh, wouldn't the world be a better place if Apple ran everything.

@gswd i don't know what to say. i'm outraged, but my feelings can't do much. just goes to prove the "chefs" aren't in our corner. they've put us there and boxed us in, leaving us no other options but to strike back and feel this witnessing of their indifference.

gswd on Mar 11, 2008

I seem to recall there was something that the Chefs didn't do (like turn on a family badge or something) and it was suggested that we just badger them until they remembered. I think I still have my army of badgers around. They might be able to make it to Texas again.

me2orion on Mar 11, 2008

@gswd i'm going to oregon. I can always take the southern route and go give them a hard time. :)

Taking into account that IB is free (apart from the VIP's)... I don't see why everybody is bitching about the time being spend on PackRat... I don't understand the game and therefor don't play it (haven't taken the time to find out either)... It's a matter of timesharing... and besides, if you feel neglected by the chef's maybe you should think about how you spend your time all day, every day... I mean, I've been en IB-er for almost 2 years, but i don't check IB every day, more like once a month... also because i don't like all the sets... talking about sets... the anniversary set... beat me to death with a chair, but the set is rather "easy".. taking a bunch of old sets and making cake, present etc version on those styles...(specially coz most of the sets used, i don't like :)) but more fun would have been icons of the chefs, their PC/Mac, chairs they sit on, the car they own...

but then again, what am i bitching for, i'm a freeloading non-vip :D
