Oy my poor iPod...
I've been avoiding getting one ever since they came out and when I wanted one I couldn't afford it (U2 Special Edition) so finally after a bus ride to the other side of the country I found out how nice it would have been to have something with a battery that would last about damned near forever (some Greyhound stations are real outlet nazis). So I get a 4gb 3rd gen Nano and I'm impressed.
I dropped it on the tile floor at work and it didn't even skip a beat or so much as scratch.
I love you Mr. Jobs.

I second that! I have the 8 gig model, and freaking LOVE it. I've used many different models of MP3 / media player, and my nano takes the cake by a long shot.

I have the 80GB iPod. I just love it! Long trips are much better with music, games, podcasts, and movies to keep you entertained.

I have a 30Gb 4th gen iPod, a 2Gb 1st gen nano, and a 30Gb 5th gen.
The hard drive-based models are perfect for the long trips and desk-bound stretches, while the flash-based nano is just the thing for when I'm out and about -- no moving parts. I can't imagine life without one or the other. The older iPod, I use primarily now for a portable hard drive, since the 5th gen is what I use for music and movies now.
Congratulations on getting your iPod! :-D

I have a U2 Special Edition iPod (video version 30GB) and It really is my best friend. On the bus it is one of the best items I have in my bag.
Congrats.

I just like making wallpapers and the resolution on my iPpy is sterling. I seriously have at least half a gig of nothing but Sutherland pics O.o. I can't believe I went so long without it.

The ipods are apple's big breakthrough- by far the #1 selling mp3's out there. I have a touch, and I don't mean to rant but it is the most thought-out and refined piece of hardware-software combination I have ever seen.
However, something that most people don't know is that if you use a mac computer with the ipod, it unlocks a boatload of awesome features that turns your music machine into somewhat of a PDA- calendar, notes, address book, etc.

PC has one do it all manually and I was miffed when I couldn't just set up the folders like a PSP. I had to take my iPod to work and use it like a flash drive to d/l iTunes 7 to take it home and install it on my computer. I love taking my text with me and I found that with long .txt files Kief3r (my iPod) would cut it off in the middle. I still luvs it and I'm going to have to get Drooler's Insurance...
