slow server
Hello,
I have to wait 30 secs up to a minute for any Icon Buffet web page to load. Am I the only one who notices this problem? Until this problem has been solved, I won't be around. Sorry.

I haven't had any issues the past 10 hours. During the peak USA hours it is slower but nowhere close to 30 seconds unless they are having actual problems, like the outages Wednesday (July 4) and Friday (July 6). The Friday outage was hardware failure.
If its speed you want try iconshock.com, you will be blown away by the download times.

ARRRRR, me just trying to be helpful since he not be happy with IB. Perhaps me thoughts could have been clearer:

I haven't had any speed problems with IB or IS. The only time I get problems is when I run an Adobe graphics program in the background, that slows my MacBook to a crawl.....

The server is still way too slow. After each click, I the browser shows the message "waiting for iconbuffet.com" during 20 or 30 seconds before anything happens at all. This way, sending one icon to all my 40+ friends takes up to an hour and I don't have the time for that. Please, Iconbuffet, solve this problem!!!

I only noticed that your profile is slower to load than others...
if the problem is not your company's router it might be some "strange" chars you put somewhere in your profile that create problems during the parsing of the encoding url...
or maybe your profile sleeps in a cluster db on a slow server while others live happily on some quad-core server...

The load time is awful about half the time I use IB. I've had nothing running on my Mac today except a browser window, where I'm reading articles online. Meanwhile, I'd hoped to download a couple of sets. It's more or less hopeless! Most links send me to the "sorry" page after ruminating for ~5 minutes (seriously!). It took me about 90-minutes, and many, many tries to load the Blog section. To check out who has/doesn't have a new set, then organize a couple trades, takes 45-minutes, after which I just feel very loser-ish for having spent that much of my time and attention . Unless I have other stuff to do on the side, or the server situation changes utterly, I can't really see using IB anymore, as much as I do like the users and icons. It just takes way, way too long. :(

Janmaruand Maldenjen, thank you for your comments. I can imagine that part of the data is on a slow server. That would explain why some pages load more quickly than other pages. Maldenjen, I haven't had many "sorry"-pages yet, just slow load times, which is frustrating already. I hope it will get better soon.

Mostly IB is pretty good, but sometimes I have big delays trying to do anything, like comments and deliveries don't register for ages, and pages take forever to load. I'm in the UK so perhaps that's a factor. Today I've been timed out several times. I still think it's worth the frustration though. :)
