You could always use one of the icons. :)

There are ways to resize the image you wanted, a good free program is IrfanView.

Resize it to 48x48 before uploading. If you need help, post a link to the photo and someone here will be happy to do it for you.

It needs to be saved in GIF format not JPEG.

PNGs are better than GIF (recent upload errors) or JPEG (double dot bug - which is why the avatar isn't working now) here at the IB. More info in my avatars post.
