Blinksale: Easy, painless, online invoicing for small businesses

Can my plumbing site be cool?

A plumbing site probably can't and shouldn't be cool! But anyway, I really thank Sean Hussey for the client referral.

This project was a 2-day build for a client who doesn't actually own a computer (thus the lack of email contact info etc. on the site).

The goal was to provide a simple, clean web presence, plus back-up info for the client's Craigslist ads, and so on.

Well, check it out if you have a moment, and I'd love to hear feedback from the IB gang!

Thanks!

Simple clean, and done in two days. I'd say you hit it about right. It certainly could have been fancier, but I think you'd have probably been over doing it then. Nicely done.

Thanks! And, there were budgetary constraints affecting the design concept, too. Overall, I'm pleased. :)

The code looks nice, the design is clean and simple. I think it achieves the client's goal perfectly with all the considerations you had. Excellent job!

I love it! I think it serves it's purpose just perfectly :o)

Specially liked:

1.- The clean/simple look
2.- The legibility
3.- Overall consistency

Professional and plumberly - it doesn't look like a 2 day job. I especially liked the red accents on the home page. Well done!

Very nice! Clean, simple, functional. Cool? Just having a website is cool! haha

I'm not crazy about the font, however. It's too small and condensed. The over forty group will have a hard time reading the copy.

And, the logo does not link back to the home page, which is standard practice.

Finally, I'm not crazy about the bouncing footer; very, very annoying. A fixed height page would help focus the customer on the content.

Hope that helps,
Bobby

Yea, its a pretty website!

Here are my suggestions:
* I found the background image grid for the navigation is too much ...it makes it more hard to read Text
* The Navigation should be better a unordered list, you're using only links that makes it hard to read for non css browsers and less accessible
* The Meta Tags should be closed coz its xhtml, but that a minor one ;)

It is cool.

Thanks for the feedback! Right now I'm on vacation with my family, but after the holidays, I'll incorporate your feedback into the site. :) ~mj

maybe you could work in some really cool icons

Looks nice. Very clean code too :)

One adjustment - the banner images are repeating onto a second row (repeat-y) which makes them look weird. Maybe check the padding on the H1 tag in the banner?

"Looks nice. Very clean code too :)"

I love it when they say that. ^^

sloan on Dec 20, 2007

Nice, though I agree needs a little bigger font size

Steax on Dec 20, 2007

Hmm, it is? mj, try changing the master font size (in body) to 80%, that should do...

You Rock 2...arrr...

Not bad. I'd prefer it without the PS effects, but overall nice work.

Whoa, I missed this! Very nice! Thanks for taking it on. :)
