STAMPS
OK Chefs!
We have been waiting for some new features for a while. Here is a GREAT suggestion. I have 13 tokens left as of right now and my tokens refresh tomorrow! I have every set.
So, what about a trade in feature! Maybe we could "buy" stamps from other members in trade for tokens! OR if that is too hard to program, maybe we just get x amount of stamps for every token we have left at renewal time.
WHO IS WITH ME HERE??????

Oh ouch - 13 poor little tokens to waste.
I'm with you. I'd love to buy stamps from other members, or just cash them in through the IB bank.
Please oh please?

My tokens expire in 5 days and I have 27 of them right now. I would sure go for a deal like this.
JBVisions on Aug 18, 2007
@ anti - how did that happen? Have you not bought some of the new sets?
gswd on Aug 18, 2007
I usually have 10-15 tokens left over at the end of the month. So an automatic conversion to stamps would be fine for me. Or we need more sets released to use up all those tokens.

to me stamps = points and trading it's not necessary the best part of IB... adding point is fun unless you're on the top (Silveria, are you hearing me?)
but the quid is that IB Staff is trying to cache data in order to speed up a bit the servers... i feel that new rules are not going to be fulfilled until they solve the problem or change dev language and environment...
I've been reading of great changes since april but little has been done...

I could need stamps too... I'm also in !

great idea ... really ...

@janmaru: I really doubt that the IB Chefs are going to switch away from Ruby and Ruby on Rails, because everyone who tries it never switches back! It's quite possible that they could do some database optimization, though.

@soprano: ye Ruby on Rails is cool... I'm using a preview netbeans 6.0 on a linux VM to speed up development 4 a tax calculator demo. When you want to show a preview to a client or you just want to play a bit it's fine. Scaling to an enterprice app is another matter!!!

Yes, this would be truly helpful, as I am going to lose 9 tokens in the refill, and I am very stamp needy.

This idea is the shiznit! I'm in!

The programming bit probably isn't hard. The only question now is if they allow us to do that or not... =P

The chefs have said before that a token-to-stamp conversion would have to take the form of some kind of set acceptance, to fit the system.
If they could have a non-set set that would expire that could add interest - those who get it can send it out like other sets but once it expires, it's gone. Receiving a 'phantom' set could perhaps be triggered by collecting all available sets. And/or maybe newbies with less than a certain number of sets or points would get the phantom sets, drawing others to trade with them.

Hmmmm.... seems there should be a way to do SOMETHING! I am bored. I know I am impatient and all, but still, none the less, bored. Which means, next year at renewal time, I most likely will NOT stay a VIP. So, would be in the CHEFS best interest to keep us engaged (saying that in a nice way, not in a b&*^hy way. :)
