I've seen similar here in Florida, but not so much now that I am near the coast. Too easy for the water to join the ocean to gather much. It still happens in some of the more developed areas where drainage was not over planned for.

Yeah, my Dad lives in Florida and I have seen some serious rainfall there as well! The storm here was by far not normal!

hmmmm... I'm used to seeing this kinds of flood since we only have 2 seasons (dry and wet season). So 6 inches of water in 2hours is a normal scene in the Philippines when the calendar hits June-September.

@cry187: Yeah.. most US residents don't know what a "real" monsoon season is like. The closest I've seen here to what we get in India is what passes for a rainy season in Florida. It's pretty impressive by US standards. =]

I found it kinda fun when I was a kid because of instant access to "pool" and long school vacations. Racing with other kids with a boat made out of rubber sandals. testing every object if it would float, etc. But as I grew old, it doesn't look fun anymore :(

Yeah, why don't we run out and jump in the puddles anymore? I think I will next time!

next time, I'll ask some friends to play outside the rain. It looks kinda childish but what the hell right. Last time I did it when I was in college. We just run out in the open field and play in the rain. That was my senior year, it's nice to goof off sometimes
