darn it gateway...whyyyyy?!

just messing around, but seriously...i just got a new monitor and was very surprised when i had stuck pixels. not dead pixels. dead pixels are dots that don't shine any color. just stay black. stuck pixels are dots that constantly shine a certain color (red, blue or green). so i had 2 stuck pixels. usually i read that you must have at least 4 or more messed up pixels to warrant an exchange or return, but i got lucky and best buy gave me a new one. i was sweatin' bullets for a bit but it all worked out. this new monitor is sweeeeeet!!! a 24 incher with all the bells and whistles, including picture in picture. doesn't get better than that. just in case you're wondering it's the FDH2400 model.

Leo you need to learn how to not sweat, like me. ;-)

usually there has to be a certain number of stuck/dead pixels close enough together in order for them to exchange it — either you got lucky or the policies are getting better! my 20″ monitor at work has a magenta pixel centered horizontally about 1″ down from the top, and there’s nothing to be done about it.

what resolution does a 24″ screen get you?

a generous 1920 x 1200. what i think is when you are within the store return time, whether it's 2 weeks or 1 month you can return whatever for any reason....after the store return time frame is over and you have to go through the manufacturer, then you have to worry about the amount of messed up pixels. in other words, the store is more leniant and the manufacturer is more strict. i could be wrong though. maybe i got lucky.

Lets not forget the 90 degree tilt, all the extra imputs and the PIP (yes it has Picture in Picture). It makes my 22" samsungs look puny.
