[Informal Survey] Authentic Jobs Icons
Last week we posted a new icon collection called Authentic Jobs based on the totally great creative job board that goes by the same name. Now that a few days have passed, I have a curiosity question or two.
First, after viewing or receiving the Free Delivery, did you click through to visit the Authentic Jobs website?
Second, if you're a creative looking for a freelance job or full-time employment, are you likely to check out Authentic Jobs for leads?
Satisfy my curiosity, if you don't mind...

I clicked through, the site was gorgeous, and if I wasn't up to my ears in work, I'd definitely give it a go. :)

I didn't click through—I had already seen the site a few days earlier.

1. No, I already had it bookmarked and subscribe to the feed.
2. Yes.

I clicked through. Being situated in Vienna, Austria doesn't help much though. But it's a fantastic service I would like to use...

I've visited it many times before after following the links in the sidebar of the forum here, but I did visit it after viewing the Authentic Jobs icon set, just to see how the icons were used on the site.
I'll probably start using Authentic Jobs to hunt for a few freelance jobs in the next month or so.
Thanks!

The site is awesomely very cool. Know many freelancers who will want to know about this one.

I actually took more interest in IB because of the icons - though had known about IB before authentic jobs, I've been following authentic jobs since its launch. so question #1 = no and question #2 = yes.

1) I checked out the AJ site after seeing the set
2) If I was looking for a job and I was creative (I'm neither), I'd certainly look for leads on AJ.
anti on Apr 17, 2007
yes on both.

I didn't know until yesterday that the site and the icons were one and the same. As Hoschichan so eloquently stated before though, if I wasn't up to my eyeballs in work already, I'd check it out!

I visited Authentic Jobs before getting the icons, and i would use it to find leads, but that would be in the near future, still setting up..

Yep, looked and its a nice clean site, however, bit frustrating as I live in the UK and so jobs are just teasing me!

To answer your questions:
1) No. I've visited the site before you post the icon set.
2) I'm creative, but not into the graphical way. I'm software architect. Authentic Jobs only has jobs on US/Canada/UK... Not for Argentina.

Thanks for all the replies folks. This is helpful information.

Yes indeed, thank you!

I had already visited the site beforehand, so I really didn't click the banner. Great site though. ^_^

I had followed the links offered on the side panel before the icons came out (after I was set straight about them not being paid advertising)
I have sent info to a few of the postings, as I am trying to do something to get out of my current situation (stifling go nowhere job), and whether that be freelance or full time work. Right now I am filling my downtime creating websites for myself, 2 charities (for free), and watching TV.
matthazinski on Apr 23, 2007
1.) yes
2.) I would, but sadly I'm not a creative.
KatieK on Apr 23, 2007
1. Nope. I'd already clicked on the "We're Hiring" image when the jobs appeared on the right sidebar.
2. Absolutely. Along with that other job board.
Xerxes on Apr 23, 2007
I did, even though I had been before, just to see if I could spot any of the icons on the site. :P

Yes Too Both.

I'd already seen the Jobs site, and I check it sometimes, just to see what's there. I might apply for a job once in a very rare while, but not likely. I'm quite happy where I am.
lparziale on Apr 23, 2007
Yes, I did in fact go look at it, but since I already subscribe to another site (won't name them here), I would most likely wait until that membership ran out. I have so much work now, I only have time for that and point fetching on IB.
iaihmb on Apr 23, 2007
I moused over the Authentic Jobs advertisement and moved on because it isn't a referral link and I my feed reader visits Authentic Jobs hourly. :)
mickeyckm on Apr 23, 2007
Nope for both. I knew the website earlier.
kimberleygrey on Apr 23, 2007
I clicked through, even though I was already familiar with it. I'm really looking for full-time work though, and I don't think I've ever seen anything based in Melbourne, Australia yet, which is a shame (and obviously not really anyone's fault).
I might consider a few 'anywhere' freelance jobs later this year, though!

Yes, I've already seen Authentic Jobs (I read Cameron's site from time to time), and yes, if I wasn't already holding down a job doing web design, I'd be using AJ for freelance work.
