More than One IconBuffet Account?
It's come to our attention that a few folks have been creating (not surprisingly) more than one IconBuffet account with the intention to trade icons to themselves. Of course this allows you to gain more points, get more icons, and basically game the system.
The IconBuffet Terms of Service specifically prohibit the creation of multiple accounts. Not only does it take advantage of our goodwill, it ruins the fun for everyone who is playing by the rules.
Here's the deal: if you engage in the creation of duplicate accounts, multiple personas, or whatever with the intent to game the system, we will delete your accounts without prejudice and strongly consider banning your IP from the site.
If you're a fun-loving honest person who loves IconBuffet, and you suspect someone of gaming the system, let us know. I think this community is nice enough to police itself a bit. If you notice some suspicious activity, we'd like to know.
That said, don't get all malicious with each other. Just use wise, friendly common-sense. We love you all. Except the cheaters. We don't care for your cheating that much.

being a self professed pixel addict [ and quite proud of that fact ! ], i can't conceive of being that sleezy. period,
i may be quiet & watch from the sidelines, but this is the first time i have been in the company of other like minded [ mostly ] people who admire the simple & petit … pixel.

I just had to take down multiple accounts created by an active user that I had thought was completely on-the-level. Ugh.
Don't make me do this stuff, people. We can see who you are and who you're interacting with. If you're cheating, we will track you down. So don't cheat, okay?

Just so you guys know - my wife Tamadaisy is a legitimate member of the site.
I don't know how you check if there are multiple accounts for a given person, but if it via IP checking, and as me and my wife will often-times access IB from home, it would appear that they might be the same person using two different accounts.

IP address isn't primarily what we look at, so no worries for you two. I can tell you're different users.

Hey that being said.. My mommy joined (yes, really) and i helped her sign up -- i think we even used my laptop to log her in -- cant remember now -- but she's legit too. although. I'm not sure if she'll become as hooked as me :D

Nobody needs to panic for getting their friends and relatives involved. We're not going to tell you just what we look at (because it would help the cheaters to hide their tracks), but so far it's been really obvious when someone is gaming the system.
