Gamers?
So, we've asked about Twitter, but what about gaming? Any Wii addicts here? DS players? XBOX 360 enthusiasts? How about Playstation junkies?
Personally I play my fair share of both the Wii and 360. Right now it's SSX Blur on the Wii and Ghost Recon 2 / NBA Street on the 360. We also have been known to play Mario Kart DS around the office.
What are you playing right now?

I'm mostly a PC gamer, playing Call of Duty 1/2, any Need for Speed game, FIFA, Battlefield 2, even Tiger Woods PGA Tour. =D
I do play on the Xbox too though, Halo/Halo 2, Ghost Recon, FIFA, Forza (I heart Forza), among others.
Looking forward to playing Call of Duty 3 on the 360 or the regular Xbox. ^__^

I love the Call of Duty series. The 360 versions are very tight.
tamashii on Apr 09, 2007
I am borrowing a friend’s Wii to try it out – and I am really enjoying it. Mostly the sports games, like 9-Ball and Tennis, are my faves.
I only really play one game (outside of the Wii demo-ing), and that’s FFXI on the PS2. I used to be big on the various Crafts put out by Blizzard, but can’t really find anyone willing to play me anymore.
taario on Apr 09, 2007
@josh: Yeah, I played Call of Duty 2 a few days after it came out on the 360 at a store, it was so awesome so I went out and bought it.
What I love about CoD 3 is that Canadians are in it. ^__^

I do not play/own any console systems. I am a PC gamer playing Guild Wars and Dungeon Runner. Although my PC has developed a slight problem in that the video does not display and gives me a Post error of 25, which is most likely a memory issue, but I cannot believe that both sticks went bad at the same time.
I guess it is time to either build a new one, or install windows over my Ubuntu box.

I've got a PSP. Currently I own: Metal Gear Acid 1&2, Metal Gear Portable OPS, Sega Genesis Collection, Gradius Collection, Valkyrie Profile, and Killzone Liberation.

Wii is awesome. I just got Wii Play, but I haven't tried it yet. I have a PS2 and XBox and no plans to upgrade either one.

I am an old-school gamer - no computers involved. However, I have found myself enjoying the MMO City of Heroes.

I've got a Wii and a PS2. I've also got a much neglected DS that aches for some more Tetris DS... ;)
Betty on Apr 09, 2007
Wii for mii, as you can see. I usually play wii sports & try to keep my wii fitness score below my real age.
I also enjoy texas hold em, ms. pacman & mini golf on my ipod.
Apples to Apples for best family board game.

Where's the Dreamcast lub! I love my Dreamcast. I missed out on the last two-ish generations of consoles (DS/-lite, PS3, Xbox, Xbox 360, Gamecube, Wii) because I went from a steady paycheque to freelancing, but I've got the PSX, PS2, and a PSP (gift), and I'm dying to get the DS Lite. My first love, though, is classic adventure games, which are far more numerous on the PC than on the Mac. With ScummVM and DOSBox, it's really easy to play older games on an XP box, and I was horrified to find that the same isn't true on OS X; so I'm on the lookout for an older Mac to get my classic/retro gaming on. =)
These days I'm very much a casual gamer. I scored Mah Jongg Quest, Midnight Mansion, and Mystery Case Files: Ravenhearst on macZOT!; in addition to occasionally spending a bit of time with them, the only real gaming time I have is spent in Toontown, which only recently (oh joy of joys) added Mac support, just when I switched platforms. Huzzah!
cry187 on Apr 10, 2007
Currently, I'm satisfied with my PS2 and doesn't plan to buy any new console (but I might change my mind and buy a Wii). If the new Metal Gear and Resident Evil, that will only be time that I'll consider buying PS3. I could only play on weekends, which is sad because of my busy schedule. I use to play on my PC but upgrading for a game is expensive so I just stick to my console nowadays.
With the release of God of War 2, my PS2 will surely love me again since I'll be spending my time playing it. I would also want to grab a Guitar Hero 2, but couldn't find any other guitar controller available except for the generic one.

I think Keegan still has a Dreamcast here. Personally I'm itching to try Guitar Hero II on the 360 soon. And I just can't get enough of Wii Sports Tennis.
meggan on Apr 10, 2007
I'm all for Animal Crossing on the Gamecube. I'm not advanced enough to own a DS or Wild World, but I love it just the same. I also like Kirby's Air Ride.
I play games for five-year-olds, apparently.
I really want to get a Wii - they seem like a lot of fun. Has anybody played the Rayman's Raving Rabbids game? That's the one I want to try.
mitten on Apr 10, 2007
I play Oblivion and Viva Pinata on Xbox360.
iconmaster on Apr 10, 2007
The Wii pretty much owns my gaming life now, and that's with only Wii Sports and Wii Play. I mostly tend toward tennis, bowling and billiards, though the others are fun too.
tamashii on Apr 10, 2007
Don’t fear, meggan. Despite what this yahoo claims, the games Nintendo puts out are geared for all ages and with record sales for the company, it appears they know what they are doing.
Animal Crossing is a great game. With the Wii able to play Gamecube games as well, you just can’t go wrong with this system.
jc on Apr 10, 2007
The Xbox 360 and Wii are my consoles of choice. The Wii is currently at the top of my list. I love how easy it is for anyone to pick it up. My 3-year-old son actually bowled a 275 the other day! 9 strikes and 2 spares. It was amazing! I can't even break 200. I also love all the new arcade game on the 360. Worms is hilarious!
Hoshichan on Apr 10, 2007
Animal Crossing and Mario Party (4, 5 & 7) on the Cube, Wiisports on the Wii (bowling!!) and random Mii creation. I also play the DS, just finished Dragonquest Rocket Slime and loved it.
extrarice on Apr 10, 2007
I'm primarily a retro gamer and collector (18 consoles so far!). For the current gen, though, Wii FTW. The PS3 just isn't worth it for me right now. Sony, we'll talk when you drop the price to under $300 (and have decent games for it). If I had $600 for a new console, it'd go towards a NeoGeo AES and Pulstar or a few Metal Slug games.
anej on Apr 10, 2007
I don't have a Wii, but I do have Guitar Hero, and it is awesome!

My time consuming game at this time is Duck Hunt. Yes, Duck Hunt. For the NES.
I'm glad to see a few other people who still play the old-school consoles. I'm not the only one :) (In my house we now have my NES, and my roommates have a Dreamcast, SNES, and PS2, and I think I have a GBA around somewhere. The PS2 actually gets the least use out of any of those.)
@Novak--yes, my brother has one of those...somewhere.
I would love to get a Wii, though I don't think that's going to happen anytime soon, what with paying for college, apartment, etc.

I *heart* my DS -- I wish I played it more often, especially since I collected so many games for it in a relatively short amount of time.
When I do pick it up these days, I find myself playing either "Elite Beat Agents" or "Mario & Luigi: Partners in Time." Both very fun, albeit rather frustrating when I get to a certain point.
I've also got a PS2 about, but it's really more of an overrated DVD player at the moment. If I'm not watching a movie with it, I'm playing "Guitar Hero" or one of the "Katamari" games.

World of Warcraft Rocks! (If you want to hook up, drop me an email.)
Nintendo DS, DS Lite, and GameCube. Owned every nintendo since the NES, which I bought when I graduated High School. Yes, kids, High School.
Playstation Portable (PSP). Gotta love it.
But! I've been itching more and more lately to do tabletop/board games. Such as:
Munchkin
Chez Geek
Settlers of Catan (and all its expansions).
Arkham Horror
And many, many more.
A good site to read reviews and such on board games, among other things, is BoardGameGeek. I'm Jahnoth there as well if you join and want to look for me. I don't have many reviews, but then I'm relatively new to it.

I'm a Wii junkie, never mind addict. I also own a DS although I haven't played it much recently. Sadly I lost New Super Mario Bros. which bums me out -- I figure I'll just blame my dog for eating it.
Josh: Someone needs to beg Storey to start up the DS tournament again. If we could just synchronize a time and date (get the site up for stats), man, wouldn't that be awesome?
FunkyMunky on Apr 17, 2007
I don't think I would be able to survive without a gaming fix. Been on console games since Atari and can't get enough of PC Gaming since Diablo came out.
I'm currently a recovering WoW addict wishing Blizzard would feed my StarCraft and Diablo addictions with another game. Thankfully Half-Life 2 is keeping my keyboard and mouse active.
As far as consoles go, Nintendo has open access to my wallet. I can't get enough of Mario Kart DS and Wii Sports at the moment.
I'm also a big fan of Carcassonne and Settlers of Catan. Microsoft may finally tempt me to get a 360 when they come to Live. Trying to get people together to play tabletop games isn't the easiest.
pcmantinker on Apr 18, 2007

I've had the 360 since November though, and am currently sitting at 2950GS with 10 games owned. The 360 is curently busted (well sorta) so I haven't played much in the past two months.
