So I have NO idea how this works
Heh, so I've signed up and have no idea how this works.
Is it that as I RECEIVE icons, I can then SEND people icons?
Seems like a pretty neat service, though could be difficult to get started?
I also take it unless you find a friend that can send you a specific icon set it involves a bit of trading 'till you get going eh?

You don't necessarily need your own friends. We are all friends, once you joined us (insert evil menacing laugh).
If you want a specific set, just post it here in the Blog Forum, and someone will send it. But you need to make sure that you have the "tokens" to cover it.
And, if someone posts here that they need a set, and you have it (and the required stamps) you can send it to them (unless someone else beats you to it). It is all a bit of fun, sort of like musical chairs (I think that analogy works - at least in my head it does).
Just watch out for Iqon's monkey's "gas". :-)

Pirate wisdom, passed on to me by elnitido52:
You don't have to accept every set that is sent to you and you have to keep in mind that sets cost tokens and you only get ten (10) tokens a month if you arrr... not a VIP (VIP's=30 TOKENS) so spend them wisely. Sending sets costs stamps.
The value of the sets you send or buy arrr... as follow:
&bull Bronze Set = 1 token for buying = 1 stamp for sending
&bull Silver Set = 3 tokens for buying = 3 stamps for sending
&bull Gold Set = 5 tokens for buying = 5 stamps for sending
&bull Diamond Set = 10 token for buying = 10 stamps for sending
As of Today, 3 Diamond Sets = Amsterdam High Seas, PackRat and IB Anniversary = 1 month of tokens for each set.
Need more tokens? For every 10,000 points you get 2 extra tokens every month up to 10 tokens (50,000 points). One free token each month for every referral that becomes VIP up to 10 tokens (10 VIP referrals). Check the complete-icon-lists from debbye.
Try to fill out your profile entirely ASAP, to show off who you are to the rest of the community.
You get more stamps by receiving sets (5 for each set you receive). There arrr... several good tutorials here in the forum and somebody will be very glad to link you to some fairly quickly. For a detailed help you should start at tamashii's Guides, FAQs and Tutorials.
You can upload an avatar and earn your first badge, the cheese badge.
Next time you have 10 tokens. Get 10 Shanghai bronze sets. They cost 1 token each and if you hold 10 sets = 10 tokens. What you get? 100 points + 3 badges + 50 stamps (very important for this game) but most important...10 great "undervalued" sets.
Just post a blog (click Blog Forums tab in your profile) "Newbie - Accepting Shanghai sets", and you will get them very quickly, I promise you that...

Aye, it will. Some of us took months to actually do anything at all with our accounts, but when you get it, hoo boy. This here IB place, it's addictive. :D
