So, how does this IconBuffet work?

Hello, and welcome to IconBuffet! Here's how it works:

When you signed up, you received a free icon set. You'll receive another free set every month, just for being a member. But if you really want to make the most of IconBuffet, you'll need to send the sets you've got to friends who can return the favor by sending you the ones you don't have.

We've built four elements into the trading process: Stamps, Tokens, Badges and Points. And this is where it gets really interesting.

Stamps are the postal currency of the IconBuffet world. If you have 'em, you can send stuff. If you don't, you can't. And different sets will cost you different amounts of Stamps to send. Bronze sets cost 1 Stamp, Silvers cost 3, and Golds cost 5. You'll get new Stamps for every delivery you receive and for every friend you refer. it's your choice whether you want to save them up or spend them right away. You can accumulate as many stamps as you like; there's no limit.

You can send a set a couple different ways. If you're on a friend's Profile page, click the Send Delivery button at the top. If you're on your own Profile page, looking at your friends list, you can click the gift package icon next to the person's name. You'll only be able to send your friend a set that he or she hasn't already been sent, so no worries about sending duplicates.

Hopefully, your friends will send you sets as well. When you check your Profile and see that you have a delivery from a friend, you can choose to accept or decline the set. This is where Tokens come into play. Receiving a set will cost you Tokens, and again the number of Tokens depends on the kind of set. Bronze -- 1, Silver -- 3, Gold -- 5. Unlike Stamps, however, you only get a set number of Tokens each month. For most of you, that'll be 10. If you want to get more Tokens so you can receive more sets per month, you can upgrade to Iconbuffet VIP for more Tokens, serious discounts on our for-pay products, and a nifty "VIP" badge.

Obviously the Sending-Receiving process gets easier if you have people all lined up on your friends list already. So get meeting! Find new people on the Blog Forum, click on their profiles and hit the "Add [person] as a friend" link.

Now while Silver and Gold sets cost more to send and receive, they'll also earn you more points. You may have noticed that every user profile has a score attached. That score is your claim to IconBuffet fame, your pixel-passing cred. And sending deliveries is one of the main ways to get that score up in a hurry. You'll get points for any set you deliver, but sending out Silver and Gold sets will earn you more than passing the Bronze around.

But there's another important way in which you can earn a whole lotta points, and that's by inviting your friends to come join in the pandemonium. Hit the "Invite friends" link on your profile and send somebody a note about the fun you're having trading Taipei Monkey and Manhattan Metroplex. If they accept your invitation and set up an account of their own, you'll rack up a bunch of points -- plus extra stamps you can use to send your friend some sets (and thus, get even more points).

Finally, there are Badges. You'll earn badges as you send and receive sets, make friends, and invite others. Pick up 5 Gold sets? That's a badge. Showing up on dozens of friends lists? Another badge. Rack up a metric boatload of points? You get the idea. We're not going to tell you about every badge; part of the fun is figuring out what they are and what you'll have to do to earn them.

One more thing... Gold isn't actually the highest level of icon set. Keep your eyes peeled on that score. Now, get trading!

Badges? We don't need no stinkin' badges!

mrw on Mar 09, 2007

i get stamps deducted if i send icons to somone whos not a friend but the icons aren't delivered

mrw on Mar 09, 2007

can i get my stamps back?

iconmaster on Mar 09, 2007

Yes -- if the delivery is refused, or not accepted within 1 week, you'll get your stamps back.

tamashii on Mar 09, 2007

So what of all the friends I already invited to IconBuffet in the past? I know of two right off the top of my head. Do I get any credit for having done so prior to this new system?

iconmaster on Mar 09, 2007

Sorry tamashii -- before now that data was just never tracked. We do appreciate all that you've contributed, and at least you'll start getting rewarded it from here on out.

tamashii on Mar 09, 2007

well shucks. looks like i'll have to invite new people now ;)

iconmaster on Mar 09, 2007

Of course. ;)

TrishaWatts on Mar 09, 2007

okay I think I get it but I am sure that I will find something to be beyond my comprehension here before too long

watehey on Mar 09, 2007

iconmaster says, "you only get a set number of Tokens each month. For most of you, that'll be 10."

Will they accumulate from month to month - or do they max out at 10?

In other words, are they a use 'em or lose 'em kinda thing?

TrishaWatts on Mar 09, 2007

good question. I am getting some of my friends to register under this new format. Now it will be so easy to trade with them and get them things that they need and then later they can help me get things that I need.

Avatar-default-large

watehey on Mar 09, 2007

Yes, but at only 10 tokens per month, it'll take a long while for them to accrue all the sets you have.

Accepting two "gold collections" will deplete their tokens.

justG Vip-micro on Mar 10, 2007

That's not a terrible thing, if that's the way it works. With the old system, it was really easy to just lurk on the swap board and get every free icon set available very quickly. This new system will keep me returning to the site regularly, instead of just once a month. I like that, better user retention.

josh Vip-micro on Mar 10, 2007

JustG: you are very wise. And we can also tell who is stingy and who in generous. And reward appropriately. ; )

Avatar-default-large

watehey on Mar 10, 2007

Generous in what way?

I'm happy to send deliveries to anyone who wants/needs them, but if they don't have sufficient tokens to accept them them what good does it do?

justG Vip-micro on Mar 10, 2007

"Will they accumulate from month to month - or do they max out at 10?"

@ watehey: My profile says that my tokens will be "refilled" next month, so I'm guessing that it's a max of 10 or 30 (VIP), with no "rollover." And again, it seems that to provide users a way to quickly obtain lots of icons (which we could do if we could just accumulate and "roll over" our tokens) would be counter to the new IB approach.

Er.. I think. Just speculating. =)

kari on Mar 10, 2007

err... why don't my tokens decrease when i get a delivery from someone? why am I stupid enough to mention this?

justG Vip-micro on Mar 10, 2007

Hush now, kari, take advantage while they're all away at SXSW! =)

Avatar-default-large

watehey on Mar 10, 2007

Currently, the 62 sets in the program have a total value of 156 tokens. That means a beginning member would have to wait well over a year if they wanted to collect them all - and that's not taking into consideration any new sets that come out in the mean time.

Even a new VIP member would require nearly 6 months.

I just think that the number of tokens should increase to some degree as a reward for sharing. Or maybe that's something the 'points' could be used for - buying more tokens.

justG Vip-micro on Mar 10, 2007

Maybe that's just what will happen, watehey. After all, we don't know how everything works yet. We've still got surprises in store for us. =)

Finah Vip-micro on Mar 10, 2007

Okay.. i have all the current sets.. why do i have ZERO points?? :::cry::: ** or does that not matter?

Avatar-default-large

watehey on Mar 10, 2007

You have to send deliveries to other people (and they have to receive/accept them) to increase your points. Or you can get a friend to sign up for a 50-point bonus.

Finah Vip-micro on Mar 10, 2007

**Suggestion for site.. can we get a list of users who belong to the site.. that way i could find the pple i recognize from the time before and add friends :D

Avatar-default-large

watehey on Mar 10, 2007

If you remeber their names, you could try typing this into your address bar:

http://www.iconbuffet.com/people/*NAME*

Of course you'd replace *NAME* with the actual name of the user :P

Finah Vip-micro on Mar 10, 2007

hmm... you know age and memory and not the best of friends.. I'm more of a if i see the name, i'll recognize it.. but i'll try.. i think maybe if i score my email i might find a few.. thanx!

Avatar-default-large

watehey on Mar 10, 2007

It may or may not work... if they haven't logged in since the switch, they may have number designations instead.

Finah Vip-micro on Mar 10, 2007

that and i just realized that everyone has the option of changing their screen name! :o

Jan on Mar 10, 2007

I'm finding this new setup to be frustrating at best. How does one even know where the tokens, points, badges, etc. are?
Most of the time I can't access this site at all. The page takes so long to load that it puts my Verizon Wireless into 'dormant' mode. This is true of the main page (iconbuffet.com) as well as the main blog page. When I do get in, there's no guarantee I can keep accessing the pages. Trying to keep up with the most recent blogs is all but impossible for me.
I sign in. When I press ENTER, I get sent to the error page stating
"Sorry, something went wrong. Rest assured we're looking into it. Perhaps you'd like to start from the home page."
It does appear, though, that I am signed in, as my name is showing up here. I can go to my Accounts page just fine. If I try to access the Profile page, I get redirected to the same error page
"Sorry, something went wrong. Rest assured we're looking into it. Perhaps you'd like to start from the home page."
Is it on my Profile page that I would find the points, tokens, badges, etc.?
Am I the only one having trouble navigating throughout this site.
Windows XP (Home Edition SP 2)
Dell Inspiron 6400
Intel(R) CPU
IE7 (although I downloaded and installed Firefox and the results were just the same)

I do have Norton running in the background, but no other sites give me these problems. Feedback?

Having similar issues with performance today: takes a long time to log in, and pages are very slow to load. Other sites are fine. I'm assuming that IB is still in beta mode to some extent.

justG Vip-micro on Mar 10, 2007

@ Jan: The IB team is at SXSW, so there'll likely be a bit of a delay before our concerns are addressed. The site was blazing fast yesterday, but is problematic today. I don't know if they have a beta team or if they were able to do any load-testing on the server before going live, but these things are pretty much guaranteed to occur. Rest assured that your computer and internet connection aren't to blame. When I encounter one of those errors, I wait a few minutes and come back, and things are fine. I'm also encountering internal server errors when attempting to send deliveries. It'll all get sorted out in time, I'm sure.

mrw on Mar 10, 2007

Bety just tuype fast ans dont worrry about mistaks like i do so you can get more done befoe the SORRY patge comes up -- hahhahahahah

iconmaster on Mar 11, 2007

Yeah, performance has been up and down since we relaunched. We're ironing it all out as best we can given our sporadic access to an internet connection (it may be a web conference, but there's a distressing lack of "web" here). So, please bear with, though the site does seem to working zippily at the moment.

Happily, everything seems to load fine now though - guess they got it worked out.

Avatar-default-large

watehey on Mar 13, 2007

Giving this a little bump to the top so it doesn't "disappear."

auschick on Mar 13, 2007

can this post be made sticky or something? it's the only post that i can find on this entire site that explains the new system :-/. Plus, on another note, i think the RSS has broken or something... bah!

Avatar-default-large

watehey on Mar 13, 2007

It's easiest to find if you click on the "News" tab at the top of the blog page.

auschick on Mar 13, 2007

yeah, but newcomers won't realize that, and it took me until now to realize that tab was there :-P

iconmaster on Mar 14, 2007

We're working on implementing a "sticky" feature. :)

Avatar-default-large

An office full of guys "working on a sticky feature."

Am I the only one who finds that amusing?

tamashii on Mar 15, 2007

no watehey - you are not the only one taking that statement with a healthy amount of humor.

Elsewhere: I was wondering if there is a way to stay on a person's profile page after making a delivery to them. Right now, making a delivery kicks a user back to their own profile page. All well and good if you only wanted to send one delivery. Thoughts?

Laurwren on Mar 15, 2007

I would also like to see a list view instead of thumbnails so I can just see a text list of all the sets I have.

Jen on Mar 19, 2007

Thanks for the good explanation Josh! :)

er.. iconmaster! I am getting you two mixed up!

yogachix on Mar 21, 2007

hmmm... ok, prolly missing something here. but i'd like to get icons using my tokens, can i do that or is it limited to only the exchange process? i am new and have no friends yet... but i am generous and like to share :)

some questions:
if i send some icons and they are not accepted, i don't get a refund of stamps?

josh Vip-micro on Mar 21, 2007

Yes, your stamps will be returned in 7 days if the delivery is not accepted.

I clicked on an email saying I was giving New York Neanderthal, but I click the link, and I never received it.... "Since this is a fresh Free Delivery from a Chef, you will not
be charged any tokens to accept it. You will also receive
5 new stamps for accepting this Free Delivery. You should
consider sharing the IconBuffet love by passing on
New York Neanderthal to your other friends."

I have to get it to share it.

iconmaster on Mar 23, 2007

dab, you should see a message on your profile page with an "accept delivery" link. Do you not have that?

tamashii on Mar 23, 2007

I don't suppose there can be a link to the Last/Most Recent post for a blog listing? There are blogs with a quite a large number of posts (this one is over 50) and rather than click the Blog title and then scroll down 5000 pixels worth of posting, I'd like to click on a Last Post link to go directly to that most recent posting.

What does this mean for the nature of comments/posts? I guess they become counted and I have no idea what kind of infrastructure that requires to allow for posts to be assigned a value.

Avatar-default-large

watehey on Mar 23, 2007

@ tamashii - hit the "End" key on your keyboard to quickly drop to the bottom of a page. And hit the "Home" key to quickly return to the top. :)

Unfortunately for me, I seem to forget something as well. :s

cypher-neo on Mar 23, 2007

So how exactly does the profile work?? I added a profile, but it won't allow me to edit the darn thing to make changes.

Avatar-default-large

watehey on Mar 23, 2007

There's still some bugs in the profile system - some are browser specific. But if you were able to create one in the first place, I'm surprised you can't edit it.

cypher-neo on Mar 23, 2007

I get to the edit page, and make all my edits, and click "Save it" and then it takes me to a page to enter my password again...

Then when I click "My Icons" to see my profile, nothing has been saved. And when I go back to edit my profile again, I find that it is exactly the way I found it before I edited anything.

Avatar-default-large

watehey on Mar 23, 2007

Odd, it shouldn't ask for your password unless you're editing your Account information.
Often, the chefs have suggested trying a different browser for problems like this - if that's an option for you. *shrugs*

cypher-neo on Mar 23, 2007

Did some poking around...
After editing my profile and clicking save, I am directed to the Account Information page. (You were right watehey, except I'm not editing my account, I'm attemnpting to edit my profile)

None of the information on my profile page that I just entered is saved.

Avatar-default-large

watehey on Mar 23, 2007

I can only suggest you try what the chefs said - if that's an option.

Or if it's not, you can try loggin out and clearing your cache and then logging back in. Slim chance, but it might work.

yogachix on Mar 23, 2007

ok - so impressed with nice (and apparently hot) folks at firewheel that i joined vip ... but no 30 tokens until april 21? wouldn't i receive them when i joined? i got 10 tokens instead? maybe i'm missing something and didn't pay attention?

Avatar-default-large

watehey on Mar 23, 2007

Maybe they've implemented the new "trickle down" token dispersal they were talking about.

Or maybe it's just another one of those darn bugs.

Anybody got the phone number of a good exterminator? :P

Firheruwen on Mar 24, 2007

I am a little confused by this site! I sent my one set I got for joining to people until all my stamps were gone, now what? Also, is there a way to receive the "free deliveries" sets? It just says I am missing them. How do I get more sets?

justG Vip-micro on Mar 24, 2007

@ Firheruwen: Oh, just wait a few seconds. Someone will figure out you're new around here and deliveries will magically fill your inbox. =)

cheiie Vip-micro on Mar 25, 2007

I understand that we each get one icon set per month, but how many are actually made **available** every month, to collect? If I'm not mistaken, the first time I was here, there were a few free delivery sets every month, and not everyone got the same ones - is it still the same principle?

justG Vip-micro on Mar 25, 2007

@ cheiie: I believe so. I think that we were given to understand that the number's around 4-ish a month, but that it's flexible, and yeh, we don't all get the same ones. I'd find the post for you if I weren't so sleepy. =]

cheiie Vip-micro on Mar 25, 2007

That's okay - I was just hoping that it still worked that way, otherwise I'd have a way-too-large surplus of tokens.

zyzzyvette on Mar 25, 2007

Kay, now I'm not so confused. Thanks. :)

zero on Mar 25, 2007

{{confusion engulfed}}

tamashii on Mar 25, 2007

Actually - I believe only a handful of people (like 100) are given any free delivery per month. As there are well over 600 members already, not everyone will get a free delivery a month. Even on the old system, I would go 2-3 months without a free delivery from the chefs and had to rely on the users for the icons.

iconmaster on Mar 25, 2007

There are supposed to be 4 deliveries every month, and everyone is supposed to get one of those automatically. The other 3 you have to trade for.

Jan on Mar 25, 2007

And is that random or a definite? If I didn't receive either of the last 2 free deliveries, then will I be guaranteed to receive one of the next two? Or do you just have a 25% chance of being a recipient each time a free delivery is released?

tamashii on Mar 25, 2007

guess i just don't pay attenting, hehe.

Avatar-default-large

watehey on Mar 25, 2007

Jan said: Or do you just have a 25% chance of being a recipient each time a free delivery is released?

You mean like a crap-shoot? Gee, I hope not - I've never had much luck gambling. :/

I think, I HOPE that we each receive a 'direct from the oven' delivery once a month.

Sly on Mar 25, 2007

Well I have not had the last two deliveries so I await to see what happens on the next two ... I hope I am not disappointed but, knowing my luck, I may well be the only one who gets the "no deliveries" bug

iconmaster on Mar 25, 2007

It's not random. If you get the third delivery one month you'll get the third delivery every month.

Steax on Mar 26, 2007

Erm, deliveries expire after a week, right? What happens if we're on holiday or something?

Steax on Mar 26, 2007

ehooton on Mar 26, 2007

Wile Vip-micro on Mar 26, 2007

I made many deliveries (40 +) with the former iconbuffet. I have the badges that go with, but not the points ...

Wile Vip-micro on Mar 26, 2007

So, if one of my friends received the same free delivery than me, it would always be the same ... so if we have all sets, next time, I will receive a delivery, he will receive the same, and for the 3 others (if 4 free deliveries) we'll have to trade with other people ... can't there be a kind of shuffle right there ?

iconmaster on Mar 26, 2007

That'd be a good reason to branch out and make more friends, right.

Wile Vip-micro on Mar 26, 2007

hum ... yep, but I can't exchange with that friend, until we trade with other people

justG Vip-micro on Mar 26, 2007

Wile, it's both easy to make new friends and to send deliveries to people who aren't friends with this new system, so I wouldn't really worry about it.

applepie on Mar 27, 2007

minchua on Mar 28, 2007

IconBuffet seems to be broken, at least on my end. I can't send friends icons even though they don't have them---I get a message that says none of my friends have that particular icon set.

Also, the page for Edit Profile doesn't display properly--I can't see any text. And on the forums, I don't see people's user names; just the date on which that comment was posted.

tamashii on Mar 28, 2007

Are you using IE? and what version, if so?

GeoffGarside on Mar 28, 2007

I love this and hoorah for OpenID

minchua on Mar 28, 2007

I'm using IE 6.0, but I switched to FireFox and the problem went away.

mrspoomp on Mar 28, 2007

how about a points for token trade system?

iconmaster on Mar 28, 2007

Points are permanent. You won't be able to expend them.

mitten on Mar 28, 2007

So we're supposed to be getting one free delivery a month? I looked back, the last one I got was Athens Beach Party, at the beginning of February. Haven't had a free one since. Didn't get Alexandria Sensory, Marseilles Value Meal, Shasta Robo, New York Neanderthal or Manhattan Me. Have I fallen out of the loop or something somehow? Sniff sniff... I know March isn't quite over yet, but almost!

zukeeper on Mar 28, 2007

okay, let me see if I've got this:

1) your stamps are depleted as you send deliveries.
2) if your delivery is rejected or not accepted within 7 days, you get those stamps back
3) you get points only when you successfully get a new person to join, or - upon a successful delivery. Is there a difference if the person is a friend, or not a friend?

Is this correct?

zukeeper on Mar 28, 2007

I have a whack of stamps, and I've been sending deliveries. The number of stamps goes down accordingly, but since (for some reason) noone has accepted my deliveries, I don't accumulate any points. =(

iconmaster on Mar 28, 2007

You've got it, zukeeper. The stamps will come back eventually.

iconmaster on Mar 28, 2007

mitten -- Things got a bit jumbled with the move to the new system, but you're definitely slated to receive the next delivery.

mitten on Mar 28, 2007

@iconmaster: Phew!

@zukeeper: People might not be accepting your deliveries because they don't have any tokens. Good to take a look at their 'box' to see if they've made any mention of whether they have tokens or not (or see if they've put a little 'out' sign on their avatar).

kolumnen on Mar 29, 2007

i just stumbled upon this "So, how does this IconBuffet work?" page. It explains all the mindblazing new stuff quite good, so perhaps it'd be a good idea to put a descriptive link to this site on top of the whole reborn site?

patrickward on Mar 30, 2007

When you send icons to your friends do you keep a set and a copy is sent or do you lose your set when it is sent?

iconmaster on Mar 30, 2007

It's a copy. If the recipient accepts you will both have the set.

patrickward on Mar 30, 2007

iconmaster on Mar 30, 2007

For now, the only way to get more tokens is to upgrade to VIP.

patrickward on Mar 30, 2007

I have an icon set that a couple of my friends lack and I have stamps, but every time I try to send it to them, the link is dead. What's the reason behind it?

iconmaster on Mar 30, 2007

They may already have pending deliveries for that set. If someone else has offered them the set, you won't be able to send it to them -- even if they've yet to accept.

This prevents people from getting tens and tens of offers for the same set.

lbcreative on Mar 30, 2007

Thanks for the quick reply!

lbcreative on Mar 30, 2007

Ok, still a bit confused about this though...

The dead link is at the "Send Delivery" button on their profile page, at which point I haven't even selected a delivery to send them.

Any ideas?

iconmaster on Mar 30, 2007

That could be a couple things. You could have Javascript turned off in your browser, or you could have a Firefox extension (like AdBlock) that interferes with the pop-up. Make sure Javascript is enabled and try turning off your add-ons.

lbcreative on Mar 30, 2007

That was it, Adblock was blocking the overlay.js file. thanks... :)

How long do sets last in your inbox?

justG Vip-micro on Mar 31, 2007

Seven days.

patrickward on Mar 31, 2007

Dam It!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

patrickward on Mar 31, 2007

I've got 33 sets in my imbox, no tokens, 10 points and cant upgrade to VIP!

What Do I Do?

justG Vip-micro on Mar 31, 2007

It's no big deal. When the deliveries expire, the stamps spent by people to send them to you will be refunded to them. When you have tokens, post a request to the forum or to your own profile, and you'll get the deliveries again.

patrickward on Mar 31, 2007

Thanks For The Quick Reply.

hmmm, i think i understand

maka on Apr 03, 2007

Looking forward to some of the bugs being worked out. Whenever I add a new friend I get an error page. Otherwise it has the potential to be a nice little community. Thanks.

Do you want to buy a duck?

justG Vip-micro on Apr 03, 2007

I don't mean to rain on anyone's parade, but this is a pretty long thread as it is... I'd like to respectfully request that irrelevant one-liners be kept to a minimum so that the thread remains useful to all the new members who are directed here.

Thanks! No offence meant, hope none is taken. =)

I signed up for free deliveries over a year ago but have never been sent one *every* month.

Often, as is the case in March, when I actually do receive notifications and click the link, the set noted in the email is not available for me to download. Nor are any others.

iconmaster on Apr 03, 2007

decibella -- you have to accept a set in order to download it. You do this from your profile page rather than from the set's page.

andrew on Apr 04, 2007

Maybe I'm going blind with old age, but like decibella I can't get my free deliveries. I go to my account but only get a form to change my details, I go to my profile URL and can see older deliveries but not the most recent 6: anything since the new look site I think. What am I missing?

Thanks, Andy.

andrew on Apr 04, 2007

Found what I'm missing - sets only last 7 days, as JustG points out above (I concur with his polite request to keep the 'noise' down) and I had no idea. Maybe the emails for free deliveries could highlight this?

Ok I am really confused. I got an email telling me I was being set a delivery. I logged in and clicked on accept the delivery I was brought back to my profile page and it said do you want to add ( a whole bunch of people to my friends. I clicked on yes and was brought back to the same page asking me the same quetion and I alos had a thing asking if I wanted to accept the deliery for 5 tokens. I clicked yes and again nothing happens except I am sent back to my page with all the "questions still there"
In other words nothing is happening from this page. I can go to my change profile page, and obviously here. What's up I am using firefox 2.0 help me please

daveamun on Apr 06, 2007

tiggerr - just keep answering yes and it will all go away. the page does get a bit jumbled up until you y/n everything.

aaroncampbell on Apr 07, 2007

Are there any ways OTHER than accepting a delivery and inviting friends to get stamps? I'm wondering, because I'm almost done with my sets (2 to go), and I've invited most of the people I can think of. Am I about to see my stamps dry up permanently?

nathie on Apr 09, 2007

Hello guys, How can I add my openid account to my profile here in IconBuffet?

soprano on Apr 09, 2007

I don't think you can switch account types once you've created your account...

cantide on Apr 10, 2007

You should add a interests category for games!:)

cantide on Apr 10, 2007

Wooooaaaahhhhhhhhhh badges! Gotta get them all!

Also could you add a feature where you can combine icon sets in alchemical process to form an Epic icon set, or badge, or somesuch? And badges could give you sweet abilities! And the longer you have a badge or use a badge, it gets more powerful, and eventually gives birth to a new badge which you can give to someone else!:D

Lestat on Apr 12, 2007

How do you add friends in this thing?

Jick on Apr 12, 2007

You should add the ability to make sticky posts. So you could stick important posts (like this one for example) to the top of the list. Would, obviously, be restricted to staff members only to prevent abuse. Just an idea. ;)

iconmaster on Apr 12, 2007

cantide: Don't think we haven't talked about things like that. ;)

Starwolf13 on Apr 12, 2007

What about, a slightly cheaper option for those of us who would love to sign up, but honestly, when you are in a tough job situation temporarily, cant commit for a monthly, definitely cant afford the annual VIP, but could cough up a couple bucks for one month, not a Very Important Person, but a Semi-Important Person? I could swipe the credit card for a couple bucks for one month... my hubby would kill me if I did the annual....

MacManX Vip-micro on Apr 12, 2007

Starwolf13, you can cancel a $6/month VIP account at any time.
