(Really) me by (really) me
As I'd already hinted in the thread IB ReallyMe I was missing a little photo album somewhere to gather "pictures of me".
I had to install the new Opera anyway, and decided I could use that to search for a photo album - no need, since the start page that came up pointed me to My Opera where one can set up a blog as well as a photo album. The code is clean(ish), I liked what I saw, and I'm now the proud owner of not only a new blog, but also a first photo album, Me by me with nothing but self portraits.
So there. Enjoy! ;) (Comments allowed.)
(I have a few older ones, but I don't have them in digital form yet. Don't hold your breath - that's priority 87529472 or so...)

Hi Iamback. Looks like you can do carpentry, too! BTW "the Tube" means television shows.

@Zsazsa, you are # 3! (to explain what a "tube" is - I know, I just forget what it looks like since I don't watch television :D Thanks anyway.)
Yes, carpentry (here part of my "balcony renovation project") is something I enjoy doing and it's great to take the mind off the computer as well! That also involves staining and varnishing and such (also a lot of fun). Depending on the weather, the balcony project is to take a break from the computer or the computer is to take a break from the balcony project - more or less. (The former, the last few days.)

Hi! Looking good! I've "tagged" you on my blog, more details here ;-)

@FallenAngel: oh dear! can I sleep first? 8-)

huh?

@sloan: can you maybe clarify or specify your enquiry a little bit?

of course you could always combine the 2 and plan your carpentry projects on the computer. Order supplies and plans, and of course post progress updates and photos on your new blog. Of course you could always point a webcam at the project space so that others could watch you as you worked. However, that could get a little creepy, because you would never know if someone was looking over your shoulder. :)

@gswd, that would be like shooting a midge with a cannon, as we say here. "The great balcony project" is a combination of many small, interlocking projects, the planning for each of which fits on the back of an envelope or on a (sticky) note. It's the "interlocking" aspect that makes it interesting, but surely not hard enough to warrant a computer. Dependency on weather conditions limits what I an do when. For instance, all painting, staining and varnishing jobs have to be finished before painting the balcony floor. Painting can be done only above 10C, silicone filler (for around the windows) can be used only above 5C, but staining and varnishing don't seem to have such temperature constraints, though I haven't tried it below zero. When there is a strong wind (a lot of that lately but it's still the season) I can't leave small parts out to dry. And some stuff can't be left out in the rain.
Juggling all that in my head is not only fun, it's a bit like a sudoku puzzle with an extra illogical element thrown in by our lovely variable weather, and yet another way to get away from the computer - I need those excuses. :-/
As for webcams, I'd love to have one on my balcony, but not to observe me, but "my" birds feeding and nesting. Cabling is a problem, but maybe wireless will make it feasible one day. That will be a nice project when my balcony is all done. Would require some of those tuits though, especially round ones. :D
