Do eskimoes use a fridge?
Maybe this is seriously a dumb question, but enlighten me~~. Cuz one of my friend used to say this:
"Mr X is an excellent salesperson/speaker. He can even sell a fridge to an eskimo."

I thought they did to stop their milk from freezing.

Yes.

Er, well, if you're serious, the whole point of that statement is to say that Mr. X is such a good salesman that he can sell the one thing to someone that one would think they'd never need... like a fridge to an eskimo.
And if you already knew that and were just bein' silly, then don't mind me. =)

Well, assuming we're talking about Inuits in Greenland, their climate temperature right now is -7.7 C (http://weather.noaa.gov/weather/current/BGTL.html)
And Fridges should be 5 C or below (http://www.foodstandards.gov.au/_srcfiles/knowing%20your%20fridge_2b.pdf)
so based on that, I'd say no. They don't need fridges.

They need fridges: who wants to 'eat' beer cubes and everything else? As cdncx posted: to prevent nice things from freezing :-)

The need fridges to thaw their frozen milk. Forget fridges, a really good salesperson can sell them air conditioning.

Or how about ocean front property in Oklahoma?

I always heard the saying as, "He could sell ice to an Eskimo."
@iqon: air conditioning includes heat as well as cooling. Hence the air is being conditioned to your liking. It has become improperly used to refer specifically to cold air, despite your unit coming on to heat your home in the winter.

I thought he sold them Popsicles.

Not sure... but I have to meet Mr. X if he's really an excellent salesman.

Haha... so funny. If I were an eskimo, I might want a fridge and air-conditioning. :\ The salesperson would love me...
magicstar on May 14, 2007

cry187 on May 14, 2007
If they can't afford the fridge, maybe a cooler would do heheheheh
