Quote of the chat:

Jon: so maybe we should do away with icons and logos!
Josh: (It pains me to say this) I think we should.

Re the Adobe CS3 icons, my husband works at Adobe, and he says no one there likes them either.

looks asif they come from a periodic chart.

They're totally Periodic Chart, which isn't horrible per se, but there seems to be a lot of people using it as a design scheme these days. I can see the reasoning behind them, but can't help but ask if they could have been better.

We've got Macromedia to blame for this - look at the simplicity of their application icons.

To my liking, it's to easy, i'm a sucker for insane detail, or atleast some detail... so a shiny (multi)color block and 2 white letters, is just a bit, well very much, to easy and doesn't involve REAL skill in making

Atleast a bit of thought went into those... or creative spark... and I doubt that a mamoth company like Adobe would unwillingly settle for, in my eyes, crap... I seriously can't and won't believe that a very lengthy design process was used for the CS3 family... but it could be that it's done for clarity, coz the CS2 icons are somewhat hard to distinguish from eachother...
