Thanks! I just recently went to the Lego store down in Disney's Citywalk. That was the best part of the whole trip :0

anyone know how this compares to ldraw? i’ve been using that to document the stuff i built back when my legos did more than just sit in the basement...

Probably one of the biggest differences between LDD and the ldraw family of programs is that LDD is used in conjunction with the LEGO Factory site. You can design a model, upload it to LEGO, get a price, create a custom box, and order a copy of your creation! The palette is limited, but if you browse the gallery of models that other people have made, you can see that it's not necessarily that much of a drawback.
On the flip side, if you use MLcad, or one of the other ldraw editors, you will have much greater control over piece placement, part color, etc. Software is also available for making professional-looking building instructions, as well as photo-realistic renderings of models.
