IB September Statistics - The Bottom Fell Out

If IB was the Stock Market there would be panic in the streets. September proved to be the worst full month since the New IB 2.0 has been in existence. The Chefs have stated that this was due to the fact that they have been working on client projects for a sister site and have been developing a new game. This is somewhat disconcerting news for the thousands of VIP's who are actually paying for the IB Icons. Site problems plagued the Site for the first half of the month but have improved with the recent installation of a new server. Perhaps the silver lining in this dismal month is the fact that VIP's not holding all the Sets got to catch up on a few back Sets.

Three of the four groups received three (2) Sets as Free/Fresh deliveries, and the other group only received one. No new Badges were released during the month. The "coolness" that was promised on June 5th still hasn't happened. Here's the results for September:

Total Sets released in September was 7, a 50% decrease from the 14 Sets released in August. The September releases consisted of 1 Gold, 2 Silver and 4 Bronze Sets.

The Token value of all Sets released in September was 15, a 56% decrease over the 34 Token Value in August.

The Average Token Cost per Set was 2.14, a 12% decrease from the 2.43 average in August.

The Average Sets released per week was 1.75, a 50% decrease from the 3.50 sets per week released in August.

This Chart tracks the above Statistics since the New Icon Buffet went live.

At the end of September there were 132 Free Delivery Sets outstanding, containing 2,215 Icons. These included 1 Diamond (.76%), 31 Gold (23.48%), 34 Silver (25.76%), and 66 Bronze (50.00%) Sets. The total Token Value of all Sets outstanding was 333 at the end of September with an average Token Value/Set of 2.52.

There is now 1 Member with over 80,000 Points, 2 Members with over 60,000 Points, 1 Member over 30,000 Points, and 5 additional Members over 20,000 Points. If you want to get into the top 50 of all Members you will need over 9,710 Points, up 1,310 Points since last month (who says there are no Tokens out there). I'm not complaining. It gave those of us who don't have all the sets yet a chance to spend tokens doing a bit of catching up instead of just paying for the new stuff!

elnitido52 on Oct 01, 2007

How many tokens were lost by the VIPs that have all sets?

JBVisions on Oct 01, 2007

I doubt if he'll be able to get a record of that but 'lots'.

elnitido52 on Oct 01, 2007

I know he cannot quantify that...
What I wanted to point that out!

debbye on Oct 01, 2007

i agree with BlackBart on that personal point. and it certainly was easier for me when i was Pooter-less, to not have to update a huge list of new sets.

More importantly, it really brings home the token/stamp exchange issue!

dyar on Oct 01, 2007

I lost 18 Tokens

How long have we been reading that?
Promises, promises and dreams...

JBVisions on Oct 01, 2007

Cheiie lost 22 tokens

sgitheanaich on Oct 01, 2007

Me know nothing, but couldn't something be temporarily reset to allow tokens to roll-over and accumulate while there aren't enough deliveries to accommodate them?

dyar on Oct 01, 2007

^ What good would it do to have 100 Tokens with nothing to buy?

elnitido52 on Oct 01, 2007

40 lost so far for September - I think I would have to open a new blog just for this...

soprano on Oct 01, 2007

@dyar: I think sgitheanaich was saying the chefs should allow us to collect our tokens, then we can trade them for stamps at a later point.

gswd on Oct 01, 2007

Another way to look at the VIP "paying for the sets" comment could be that this month (September) the cost was still under $1 per set. Which is still less than the cost of a starter stock set they sell, even with the VIP discount.

I do wish that they would put out more of the starter and cms/blog sets as they usually contain icons that can really be used as more than decoration. And yes, that also falls under the "promises, promises and dreams" category.

jameshilton on Oct 01, 2007

Im hoping for an October come back!

wotan on Oct 01, 2007

God...I love your statistics :)

elnitido52 on Oct 01, 2007

@sgitheanaich: Somebody suggested something like that before, don't remember who or when, but It should be that way. No expiration date. Simple. For this case only.

@Dyar: Great statistics. I know there were many people just waiting for this.

@BlackBart: Things cannot be bad for everybody. Some VIPs (like your case) had the chance to do so, others might be waiting to do so, but when you do (or I do), if there are no new sets to buy then, what would you do with your tokens?

@gswd: I am just another guy trying to get through another day without a major mistake too. Let's keep it that way!

KatieK on Oct 02, 2007

Cheiie probably has the record there, but at this rate I'm going to lose 21 tokens on Thursday. (Poor little tokens.)

fuseunderground on Oct 02, 2007

I'm about to lose 26 tokens! quick somebody send me the set I'm missing (pretty please)

JBVisions on Oct 02, 2007

Even then you'll still lose 23! Is that the record?

aaroncampbell on Oct 03, 2007

Probably, I lost 21

seanhussey on Oct 03, 2007

It would have been a good month to unleash a diamond set.

dyar on Oct 03, 2007

^ A Diamond Set would be a disaster for me now with no Stamps to send it out. I hope a Token/Stamp exchange program can be worked out first.

josh Vip-micro on Oct 03, 2007

These stats are awesome Dyar. Thanks as always.

BTW - I wish there were thousands of VIPs. But there are not. Tell your friends to sign up. ; )

More iconz be coming.

aaroncampbell on Oct 04, 2007

I don't mean any offense by this, so don't take it that way. However, if you want more VIPs, you might want to cater more to them. The empty promise of new things, as well as the lack of stamps, really kills the VIP experience.

jflint on Oct 04, 2007

I think one thing that keeps people from becoming VIP is the realization that they will never catch up and collect all icons with only 30 tokens a month.

I am still looking at about 2-3 more months before I collect everything out there NOW and I am only missing 18 sets - mostly gold and silver.

If someone joins now, they see that it would take them forever to collect all the free deliveries and end up abandoning the site because they don't have time to troll the forum and find people to send icons too.

There also isn't any way to track deliveries that you have sent unless you count your stamps.

elnitido52 on Oct 05, 2007

I have many sets that I have declined but the system keeps spinning (16 hours and haven't finished). The friends that sent me the sets have contacted me in order to get their stamps back. Also, we have not received any outstanding stamps back. What do we have to do to get some attention?
