IB May Statistics - Take That You Naysayers
For those few naysayers who post on the forums that IconBuffet is dead, you might want to re-think your position. Now, May was no where near a record month, but it did approach some pre PackRat levels. One month does not make a Trend, however if it continues even some EX-VIP's may have to rethink their positions.
As noted herein, May was a up month when compared to April in both terms of Token Value of Sets and Number of Sets released. Group 1 received 1 Gold and 1 Silver Free Set during the Month, Group 2 received 1 Silver Free Set, Group 3 received 1 Gold and 1 Bronze Free Sets, and, Group 4 received 2 Silver Free Sets during the Month. Here's the results for May:
Total Sets released in May was 7, a 40% increase from the 5 Sets released in April. The May releases consisted of 2 Gold, 4 Silver and 1 Bronze Sets. Of the 7 Sets released, etherbrian was the Designer of 5 Sets (1G, 4S, 1B, ) containing 72 Icons, and iconmaster was the Designer of 2 Sets (1G, 1S) containing 20 Icons. At the end of the first quarter, iconmaster has released 5 Sets containing 43 icons and etherbrian has released 9 Sets containing 108 icons.
The Token value of all Sets released in May was 23, a 156%% increase over the 9 Token Value in April. Non VIP's may have experienced a shortage in the amount of Tokens needed to acquire all the new Sets released, and VIP's having all the Sets still had Tokens left over.
The Average Token Cost per Set was 3.29, a 83% increase from the 1.80 average in April. The increase was due primarily to the higher weighting of Silver and Gold Sets during the month. It should be noted that this is well above the average of 2.64. Out of 7 Sets released, 3-4 should have been Bronze, when in fact only one was Bronze.
The Average Sets released per week was 1.75, a 40% increase from the 1.25 sets per week released in April.
This Chart tracks the above Statistics since the New Icon Buffet went live in March 2007.
This Latest Chart tracks by Group the Total amount of Set Value each group has received Free since IB 2.0 started on 3/9/07.
At the end of May there were 191 Free Delivery Sets outstanding, containing 2,955 Icons. These included 3 Diamond (1.57%), 47 Gold (24.61%), 49 Silver (25.65%), and 92 Bronze (48.17%) Sets. The total Token Value of all Sets outstanding was 504 at the end of May with an average Token Value/Set of 2.64.
There is now 1 Member with over 120,000 Points, 1 Member (+1) with over 110,000 Points, 1 Member(+1) with over 80,000 Points, 1 Member (-1) with over 70,000 Points, 2 Members (+1) over 40,000 Points, 11 Members (+1) over 30,000 Points, and 20 additional Members (-1) over 20,000 Points. what exactly does this mean?

is that based on usual percentage of bronze sets, or how much certain sets should have been worth in your opinion? i originally read it to mean the latter, but i’m not sure...

In the past the chefs have tried to keep a ratio of 50% Bronze, 25% Silver and 25% Gold (exclusive of Diamond Sets). This allows for efficient use of your Tokens.
Lets say that you have 10 Tokens/month and have to allocate those each month among the available offerings. You see a Gold and a Silver you like (8 Tokens worth) then you have to take the only available Bronze available (and have 1 Token left over), or forgo the Gold you like and take 3 Silver and the only available Bronze.

thanks for the Dyar report. I like the new upgoing trend in sets here... hopefully, I will need to go back to VIP status in a couple of months.
