IB January Statistics - A Milestone - There Are Rats Among Us
I'm sorry for the delay in getting this out. I had a death in the family and then company in town for a week.
On January 3rd a Milestone was reached with the release of Linjiang System. It was the 100th Set released since the beginning of IB 2.0 on 3/0/07. On January 17th the highly anticipated PackRat Set was released, which had been announced on November 12th. This is the second Diamond Set, and the first Set co-designed by etherbrian and iconmaster. The PackRat Set was released as a Free Delivery to VIP's who were VIP's on the date of release. Simultaneously with the release of the PackRat Set, PackRat the game was released as a Beta on Facebook. If you want either the PackRat Icon Set or an invitation to join the Game, just leave a whisper in my Box. {shameless plug by the author}
As noted herein, January was a down month when compared to December's near record month in terms of both number of Sets released and total Token Value of all the Sets released. January tied September for the least amount of Sets released in a full month. Groups 2 and 3 received 2 Free Sets during the Month and Groups 1 & 4 received 1 Free Set (excluding the PackRat delivery). Here's the results for January:
Total Sets released in January was 7, a 27% decrease from the 11 Sets released in December. The January releases consisted of 1 Diamond, 1 Gold, 2 Silver and 3 Bronze Sets. Of the 7 Sets released, etherbrian was the Designer of 4 Sets (1G, 3B) containing 62 Icons, iconmaster was the Designer of 2 Sets (2S) containing 18 Icons, and etherbrian and iconmaster jointly released 1 Set containing 11 Icons (1D).
The Token value of all Sets released in January was 24, a 36% decrease over the 33 Token Value in December.
The Average Token Cost per Set was 3.43, a 14% increase from the 3.00 average in December, due primarily to the inclusion of the Diamond Set.
The Average Sets released per week was 1.75, a 36% decrease from the 2.75 sets per week released in December.
This Chart tracks the above Statistics since the New Icon Buffet went live in March 2007.
This Latest Chart tracks by Group the Total amount of Set Value each group has received Free since IB 2.0 started on 3/9/07. I changed this from the other chart since the other one was somewhat distorted by the Diamond Deliveries which spanned all Groups. Diamond Deliveries are not included in this Chart. Hopefully the Chefs won't overvalue or undervalue future Sets just to make the groups more even as they change each month anyhow.
At the end of January there were 168 Free Delivery Sets outstanding, containing 2,654 Icons. These included 2 Diamond (1.19%), 42 Gold (25.00%), 41 Silver (24.40%), and 83 Bronze (49.40%) Sets. The total Token Value of all Sets outstanding was 436 at the end of January with an average Token Value/Set of 2.60.
There is now 1 Member with over 120,000 Points, 1 Member with over 80,000 Points, 1 Members with over 70,000 Points, 1 Members with over 60,000 Points, 1 Member over 40,000 Points, 1 Member over 30,000 Points, and 20 additional Members over 20,000 Points. If you want to get into the top 50 of all Members you will need over 14,450 Points, up 130 Points since last month (the smallest monthly increase to date). Up to date User Standings can be seen Here courtesy of Aaroncampbell.

Looking Forward: February is the 12th month of IB 2.0. Will there be a One year anniversary Set on March 9th? One would expect February and March to be big months in terms of the total Token Value of new Sets released just due to the fact that there are so many annual VIP memberships coming due in these months. However, it appears that the focus of the Designing Chefs is currently on designing Icons for, and playing, the PackRat Game (yes, chefs we can see when you're playing now). Only time will tell.

Another good summary from dyar. Sorry to hear about your trials this last month. I am sure that all the IB community thanks you for your service to the community, as we also thank the chefs for their contribution to our addictions.

Firstly, my condolences for your lost...secondly thanks again for tracking all the info...I still hate PackRat, this info shows why I do...
gswd on Feb 11, 2008
Well, that and the fact that rats would get into the ships stores and eat all the bread so you had nothing to go with the Rum.
MaskedJedi on Feb 11, 2008
Wait...
You can put stuff in your ship's stores besides rum?
elnitido52 on Feb 11, 2008
Fish...
MaskedJedi on Feb 11, 2008
Just takes up space.
Space that could be better suited to holding rum.
gswd on Feb 11, 2008
Well, unless you are using square kegs, then there is the space in between the tops and bottoms of the kegs.
MaskedJedi on Feb 11, 2008
That's where you put the bottles.
MaskedJedi on Feb 11, 2008
Of rum.
