I'm not shaving my head for anyone :∫

dustybunny on Jul 03, 2007

No need to shave your head. Monks only need to wear robes.

hjsg on Jul 03, 2007

Do monks give free rum?

anti on Jul 03, 2007

I think they have the absynth.

dustybunny on Jul 03, 2007

The IB Monks are free to drink. They help others deal with questions and help them find the icons they need.

katylava Vip-micro on Jul 04, 2007

drinking helps you help others deal with questions? i'll drink to that.

austingirl on Jul 04, 2007

cheers

dustybunny on Jul 04, 2007

haha

Want to make it clear that being a monk doesn't mean you are being religious. You are only a follower of the great IB chefs.

Blabby on Jul 04, 2007

Will there be chanting? If so, I'm in!

dustybunny on Jul 04, 2007

OH IB! OH IB!

haha chanting!

dustybunny on Jul 07, 2007

Does no one love me?

I'm still the only IB Monk! I guess that makes me special. haha

FallenAngel on Jul 07, 2007

Monks, celibacy, chanting...um, I'm a fallen angel. I don't think I qualify ;-p

iqon on Jul 07, 2007

Here we come, walkin'
Down the street.
We get the funniest looks from
Ev'ry one we meet.
Hey, hey, we're the Monkees
And people say we monkey around.
But we're too busy singing
To put anybody down.
  — by tommy Boyce and Bobby Hart

dustybunny on Jul 07, 2007

IB Monks are not tied to the standard Monk form. IB Monks are the monks of IB not religion. I guess you could say we follow the almighty chef. lol

elnitido52 on Jul 07, 2007

You should join the partyand Get free guidance.

To join The Pirates, just go to your profile and add "The Pirates" , without the quotes and without any typos, to any of the profile categories: Movies, Listening, On the Tube, Reading

Then, go to this blog and add a comment saying you are the new member.

Enjoy....................

elnitido52 on Jul 07, 2007

You won't be alone again, naturally.
You will share with 119 members..........

elnitido52 on Jul 07, 2007

Sorry 120 members..................

dustybunny on Jul 07, 2007

I have vowed to stay on the straight and narrow.

No vile snagging of points. The Pirates are not for me.

iqon on Jul 07, 2007

@dustbunny - I can truly appreciate the purity of your ethics and the effort it takes to walk the straight and narrow path. You are to be commended.

Besides it means one less person competing with me when I go sniping.

debbye on Jul 07, 2007

AHHHHHHH well … OK … i cannot leave a Mac Man who's also in IB Anonymous hangin' out there in the wind alone. i'll go to the store to get the burlap for the robe, but i won't wear it until it cools back down to 85!

FallenAngel on Jul 07, 2007

Besides it means one less person competing with me when I go sniping.
Arrr! A true Pirate ye are Iqon!

gswd on Jul 07, 2007

Hey. Even Robin Hood had Friar Tuck. Every 'ner dowell has to have a moral compass, elsewise they know not when they stray.

lparziale on Jul 07, 2007

Debbye - bring back some peace and relaxation exercises for the IB Anonymous group to use. We will be waiting patiently... on IB. Hourly. Trading. Looking for more points.

anti on Jul 07, 2007

Maybe the monks will help debbye in her quest. Icon meditation, ya know.

debbye on Jul 07, 2007

joecool on Jul 08, 2007

I shall follow the path and not stray brother.

dustybunny on Jul 08, 2007

Welcome brother. May you find your path to be as you want it.

You may want to make yourself an avatar. You're free to show your IB Monk status in it.

joecool on Jul 08, 2007

I have done as you asked brother, I thank you for my cheese.

dustybunny on Jul 09, 2007

Enjoy your cheese. Congrats on your 10 bronze as well.

iconmaster on Jul 10, 2007

Monks are famous for beer! If it weren't for the tip-the-scales points issue, I'd be in like St. Flynn.

dustybunny on Jul 11, 2007

I'm glad to have your interest. I have added you as an honorary member since I completely understand why you have not added it.

dustybunny on Jul 11, 2007

Welcome anti.

anti on Jul 11, 2007

It is a noble and fine mission we embark on here. I do respect the brethren for their gracious restraint. And their really cool maps.

louiemctool on Jul 11, 2007

wise ninjas meditate to focus their power... so i'm in!

bring on the beer!

dustybunny on Jul 11, 2007

@ louiemctool, not sure why but you don't show up yet.

anti on Jul 11, 2007

@louiemctool, the circle will no doubt be strengthened by your presence. At the moment, however, your efforts to join more closely resemble Stuff that don't count.

louiemctool on Jul 11, 2007

ha. i don't even belong to my own "clan" (IB Ninja Monkey), so i'm not surprised.

'course, the IB Geek Girl Fanboy worked, so maybe the chefs are trying to tell me something...

:)

anti on Jul 11, 2007

hee

joecool on Jul 11, 2007

louiemctool we welcome you to the brotherhood, but please don't use your invisibility trick, it makes you too hard to find.

louiemctool on Jul 11, 2007

sweeeet...

maybe i should be on "heros"...

:)

dustybunny on Jul 12, 2007

Yay! louiemctool you are now a part of our brotherhood.

Welcome brother.

anti on Jul 12, 2007

It is indeed a cause for great joy. Our esteemed brother Louis was falling into confusion. Recently, his path has been made straight. We must all join together in the rejoicing. You can skip the chanting this time.

iqon on Jul 12, 2007

If louie becomes a monk will he have to stop stalking the geek girls?

anti on Jul 12, 2007

Best they tell me, you do not have to adhere to any set rules. You only have to seek the path.

Ol' Lou's doing pretty good from what I hear, perhaps he seeks the wisdom that will carry him through the trials ahead. :)

dustybunny on Jul 13, 2007

Monks are free to do as they wish. It is only the path of wisdom and knowledge that we seek.

Louie has already learned more about IB and improved his situation.

Knowledge is a powerful thing.

dustybunny on Jul 14, 2007

Welcome austingirl. May you find your path to be to your liking.

heinzelman on Jul 14, 2007

do monks like corn?

dustybunny on Jul 14, 2007

Anti is our gardener. So you will have to ask her.

My guess is that, yes, monks like corn.

anti on Jul 14, 2007

Sadly, the garden is located at such an altitude that bringing in the nitrogen rich supplements to grow corn would be prohibitive. We must limit ourselves to the small number of aromatic herbs and wildflowers that will survive in our thin, rocky soil.

dustybunny on Jul 14, 2007

Ah drats. I was hoping for some berries.

Welcome Denise. You are making this circle stronger. We hope we can help you become stronger as well.

ZsaZsa on Jul 14, 2007

You can grow anything with a grow light, Master anti.

dustybunny on Jul 14, 2007

The Circle grows!

anti on Jul 14, 2007

The most favorable garden spot has been reserved for the growing of the cassis for flavoring. Elders inhabit the shady perimeter, and the rest is run over with the old wormwood. Grow lights could be situated in the lower catacombs, but that would pretty much limit us to crops that stay under 6 feet.

ZsaZsa on Jul 14, 2007

I volunteer to work in the catacombs and grow mini corn While I contemplate the maize of life ...

dustybunny on Jul 15, 2007

Maize of life... lol Perfect

We should all be looking for peas.

anti on Jul 15, 2007

I am still seeking the maize persons.

louiemctool on Jul 15, 2007

aw, shucks. i had three whole lines dedicated to me...

i feel so special now....

:)

rotassator on Jul 15, 2007

I find this idea ascetically pleasing. :)

anti on Jul 15, 2007

It is that, and also symmetrical and regular!

dustybunny on Jul 16, 2007

Welcome rotassator. May we make the Circle complete.

ZsaZsa on Jul 16, 2007

@ante your story is amaizing!
@Brother rotassator, what will be your calling here on the temple grounds?

rotassator on Jul 16, 2007

Sister ZsaZsa,

I am inspired by the ancient arts of manuscript illustration and text restoration. While I myself have only meagre skills in gilding, painting and careful application of typography, I believe I can be of some use in the library, tending to old manuscripts and preserving ancient scrolls. Special attention will be given to texts featuring symmetry, order, balance, palindromes and humourous narratives.

The glass may be half empty, but never less than half full. ;)

ZsaZsa on Jul 16, 2007

Oh, I will nip up during my lunch break.. I mean, I will visit your during my walking meditation.

dustybunny on Jul 18, 2007

Welcome sollaroll. May you find your way.

rotassator on Jul 24, 2007

Brothers and sisters, pray tell about your current endeavours on your path.

For me, I have been discovering the wonders of J.S. Bach and will embark on a journey of further study and reflection.

Any other news from within the community? :)

louiemctool on Jul 24, 2007

my open source group has made much progress in our latest project. this has been cause for many positive feelings.

long meditation has yielded many lines of beautiful yet simple code...

plus the beer helps...

:)

dustybunny on Jul 24, 2007

I have been meditating to the sound of the waves. It is surprising how such a simple sound can keep your mind off the fact that you have no tokens. OK fine I've been having fun on the beach.

I have been exploring the expanse that is my mind for the truth and that which I find to be most important. While I may not know it right away, the truth is hidden in there.

dustybunny on Jul 25, 2007

Welcome Brother wulfbane.

iqon on Jul 25, 2007

Aye dustybunny, the aural aspect of waves are soothing indeed. They contribute to pirate enlightenment (along with a mug of ye favorite beverage).

dustybunny on Jul 25, 2007

Pirates are about plunder. I think that the waves have the opposite effect on most pirates. Pirates who are able to be soothed and engaged by waves are very special.

rotassator on Jul 26, 2007

Nah, iqon means the soothing waves of his victims waving goodbye to their treasure. :P

iqon on Jul 27, 2007

Arrrr, don't git jealous The Pirates way to enlightenment is fun'er than ye way. Aye, we be slumbering under the heavens with tropical incense and waves gently lapping the sides rocking us to sleep. Me wakes up refreshed and ready to plunder hapless victims lost in the sea of blogs. The sonic waves of victims whining brings aural pleasure to me ears and joy to me heart. Me be liken waves.

dustybunny on Aug 02, 2007

anti on Aug 02, 2007

Pray tell who is this tamashii? Should I fall to envy?

dustybunny on Aug 03, 2007

See why tamashii is great.

A Party for tamashii

rotassator on Aug 04, 2007

Welcome, newcomers. I pray that your time with us will be full of joy, peace and fulfilment.

Tamashii, I will see you at the celebration! :)

dustybunny on Aug 13, 2007

Monks are friends to the Penguins. Like a quarter of our members are Penguins.

I myself prefer the warmth of books and icons but that doesn't mean other monks can't enjoy the cold.

In only a month, the IB Monks have succeeded in being a powerful team of well involved IB members. A Guild has been created in our image with only one difference, guaranteed acceptance of tokens, (IB Welcome Committee). This has been a solid journey so far.

I salute you all. Let us continue on our journey to enlightenment.

debbye on Aug 13, 2007

three cheers for dustybunny!

dustybunny on Aug 16, 2007

Welcome Brother joseadro.

louiemctool on Aug 16, 2007

yes, welcome, Brother. May you find enlightenment.

:|

rotassator on Aug 17, 2007

All are welcome!

@debbye We aren't a silent community here. Thoughtful, yes. But definitely celebratory! :)

Alone we are strong. Together, we are stronger still. May we always use our power for good (and not evil). ;)

Elfen on Aug 17, 2007

My path has lost direction.

ZsaZsa on Aug 17, 2007

Then you, Elfen one, are at the crossroads, an auspicious beginning of your new path. Discard the harsh judgment and hurried pace of the outer world and embrace the unlimited universe offered by the inner self.
Please join us, Elfen, I need help with the spiritual herbs and mini corn in the catacombs.

anti on Aug 17, 2007

ZsaZsa. I have prepared a special tea to aid the growth of the herbs. It can be applied as a drench or a foliar spray. It is organic so it can be used right up until harvest.

Elfen on Aug 17, 2007

The IB group that I belong to has not been created.

ZsaZsa on Aug 18, 2007

That makes it hard to attend meetings...

janmaru on Aug 18, 2007

as Groucho Marx I wouldn't join a meeting that would accept me as a member.

anti on Aug 18, 2007

May our new seekers find true enlightenment! I humbly submit that the group Stuff that don't count exists solely for the purpose of providing a group you don't want to be seen joining.

daveamun on Aug 27, 2007

@anti: so very Zen!

Leto on Sep 05, 2007

The robes are comfortable, thanks.

anti on Sep 05, 2007

Greetings, brother Leto! May you find your path to enlightenment be to your ease as well!

dustybunny on Sep 11, 2007

Welcome brother Leto.

joecool on Sep 23, 2007

Welcome brother.

jwhitmire on Sep 26, 2007

I would join the monastery and lend my hand assisting in the brewery, yet I fear that I might bring down the illustrious point average and thus dim the image of the most revered leadership. However, if the doors are still open to this chantingly charming guild, count me in.

dustybunny on Sep 26, 2007

Our doors are always open. We want people to find their path.

Once an achievement has been reached no one else can claim ownership, so our point average legend is safe.

Remember also that others joining the circle require us to reach that goal again. Goals make us stronger.

I am pleased to call my brethren my friends. The circle's power is the sum of all that are a part.

dustybunny on Sep 26, 2007

Welcome Brother jwhitmire.

MrDee on Sep 26, 2007

dustybunny on Sep 28, 2007

bjendrick on Oct 04, 2007

Ah... saw the post above... I'm in!

dustybunny on Oct 04, 2007

Welcome brother bjendrick

The circle continues to grow larger. There is strength in numbers and in quality.

Granf on Oct 05, 2007

debbye on Dec 13, 2007

i find myself seeking the positive thoughts of my brothers and sisters in the Order of IB Monks. I have set myself a lofty goal and find that i can use your spiritual assistance.

With the upcoming Winter Solstice, i will make a total commitment to focus upon my Dreams. I have a website to get up & running, a book to get published, a Tree Stump to complete ( with it's own book! ) and a new & improved Life!

There is something to be said for the "longest, darkest" day of the year. Everyday following the Solstice will grow brighter, as will my Life!

i is so glad that this body of folks exists on so many levels.

thanks :-)
