Well.. I guess the sensible thing is to quit VIP status after I get all the sets and wait for another few months and get VIPed again, quit VIP after all the sets are gathered, wait again, and rejoin, gather, quit, wait, join, gather, quit...
Oh boy, not looking forward to play yo-yo with online transactions.
Is that really necessary?

In answer to the original question--it already happens to many VIPs, and we just lose the tokens. There's even a group IB Extra Tokens and a blog forum post about the problem.

@dyar: We obviously have the same renewal date.
At midnight tonight, 18 tokens will turn into pumpkin seeds. :(
I think signing up last year for the yearlong VIP was a bargain. Like so many others, I'll probably not renew.
