Is this Site DEAD? No new sets T_T
It is almost 2 weeks with no sets since IB diamond Anniversary.
Is this a sign that Chefs don´t care about IB anymore?
I would understand if the icons were created by just one person, he can become ill or tired or in love, but I believe that IB has a group of Chefs, so icons will be always created with a good range of frequency .... or not?

I thought this site was closed. I haven't receive a new free set from the chefs in almost a month. I don't feel like coming as I used to, at least to check for new sets and read some new blogs. I knew PackRat was going to kill this site. Well, it was good while it lasted.

it may be worth pointing out here that there is no "set-in-stone" delivery schedule, other than the group rotation. so, what you may be seeing is perhaps a "correction", if the chefs realized they were being a little too generous.
i personally just think SXSW put them a little behind. Josh did just mention in another thread that sets ARE forthcoming...
so, like i've said before, good things come to those who wait.

is true. maybe i'm just more forgiving than some. you know, benefit-of-the-doubt and all that...
that being said, everyone's welcome to have whatever opinion of IB they choose to have, so don't take that as me saying anything other than, "hey, let's look at the glass as half-full, see what happens..."

as a relative newcomer IB still has a lot to offer me as far as collecting. what's becoming difficult is getting points. as fewer and fewer new members are appearing there're less and less people for me to send my sets to.
i think that the only real remedies here are...
1. more free sets sent to smaller groups. sets need to have a feel of exclusivity to give us newcomers something valuable to trade with.
2. more new members - people who need sets sending to them. packrat seems like a great way to draw people to IB but i can't even remember seeing an IB link on there. the only people who know packrat is from the team behind IB are us IBers.
that said, i'm still loving the IB and have found tons of people to help me meet my goals (badges and personal points milestones - just reached 1k).
just my thoughts.

also, as an after-thought...
what about widening the group of contributors. i bet there's tons of artists here that would contribute sets (maybe to some sort of IB competition) for nothing in return other than a small prize and being a featured IB Guest Chef for a couple of weeks.
I'd send a set or too...

I haven't received a single free set for the last month. My last free set was Alexandria Casino. Is this site going be be shut down or something? I don't participate too much on blogs but I was worried and wanted to know if there was something wrong. Could you tell me what's going on, please? Thanks

Lately, it seems as if we only hear from the Chefs when they want to promote their personal interests. The last two messages and icon sets are about the color wars they are involved in, and the one before that (message & icon set) is about the IB Birthday. Mind you, I love the icons...I just wish there were more releases (like everyone else) and I also wish they could be based on fun stuff for us as well (such as Amsterdam Cookout, Halifax Lanes, or Shanghai Gamer).

@KAHRules - I agree 100%. Seems as they just want people to lose interest in the site and therefore shut it down. We won't let it happen. Even though they don't show interest on IB but PackRat, we love this site and don't want to see it die because of that.

there have been some good suggestions in other threads about ways to "energize" IB. it's obvious that a huge chunk of IBers agree that this site is worth keeping. it isn't only the icons (did i say that?) that are awesome, it has a forum that is by far, the most decent one i've seen! it shows that a point can be made without being rude or ignorant.
All in all, i am honored to be a part of this place. :-)

I enjoy PackRat and I can understand why the guys are busy with it. They have 100k members and they're all screaming for new stuff even while they're still trying to fix faults.
However, it would be a shame to see this place die off due to apathy as it's a perfect alternative for those who don't like, or can't hack PackRat.

In two days I will lose 26 tokens and I don't play PackRat because I hate it...but I won't let IB die simply because of the chefs apathy...I'll stay here even though I'm the only one left...I love this place and the friends I have met here...including you Gill...Salud!

Trying to have new IBers is not that easy ... so we all need chiefs help for another way to have fun ... let's say having a way for all of us to submit a set after chiefs approval. Or a 'stock exchange' for stamps vs tokens, ... there are many ideas that were exposed on several threads here !
And, I won't let IB die too !!! I'm here since a year and a half, can't go to end so soon ...

Adding to my last thoughts, there had been several new chiefs there (Brian Bailey=otherbrian, and some others). What are they doing ? etherbrian, josh and iconmaster make icons, but the other ones ?

Josh doesn't make Icons, nor does Brian Bailey. They also added a new Designer to work with PackRat.
