I didn't think this was a test post. I thought coley was making the point that some of us have made before (and on which josh picked up): that what IB calls a blog is actually a post (or a thread in the forum world, or an entry in the blog world).
...except in MySpaceLand, and everyone knows that if you want to sound like you know what you're talking about, you should sound like the MySpace crowd.
since we are being silly: "Here is my post about a postman suffering a post-traumatic episode after crashing into the goal post while running a post route. He was carried to the postmodern post office but left in a hurry to make post time at the track."
Actually, blog is fairly accurate here, as each of us can post a thought/rambling/question/etc. and others can only leave comments.
Message boards and blogs are similar, what differentiates a message board from this is that replies can branch off into their own threads. We're all just commenting here, hence a blog.
It's kind of a gray area here - there are so many of us posting, and they've kind of segmented it into topics "Trade" "Blab" and what not.
...now to go on a tangent. How many bleeding moose can you count in 20 seconds? (waits) You counted 0! Why, you ask? SIMPLE! BECAUSE MOOSE CAN'T BLEED!
Hi dears,
I was just making a point that "blog" is misused, here. At the outset, this website says "Post new blog" when it should say "Write new blog *post* or blog *entry*". Something to that effect :) I'm not "posting a blog." The blog's the greater entity. I'm "posting TO the blog."
Blog is short for 'weblog.' Think about it this way. Star Trek.. Captain's log. A ship's log. There are entries into the log. When this site calls writing entries "writing blogs" ... that just isn't correct.
Or a Clog, since there was also a Medical Log, and First officer's Log, and I am sure that anybody who kept track of activities would have a log, maybe even engineering.
Just wanted to say that this is a random post. To contribute my random knowledge to all this, I will comment that the most common day for suicide is Monday, which comes as no surprise to me or Garfield. :D

I consider this a little more bloggy.

@josh: "blog" isn't a buzzword. Just get it right and call this thing a forum, k?
@smalltide: Forums and blogs are completely different. No offence, but you need to get out more if you think this is anything close to a blog...

weblog at Dictionary.com
A website that displays in chronological order the postings by one or more individuals and usually has links to comments on specific postings.
Website? Check. Chronological order? Sure. Postings by one or more individuals? Yup. Links to comments? Well, you got here somehow, right?
Heck, I don't how you could call this anything but a blog.... ;)

iqon on Apr 28, 2007
but Clog (Captain's log) would mean a weblog is a called a wlog.
gswd on Apr 28, 2007
Well, slog was for ship's log, wasn't it?
gswd on Apr 28, 2007
And also a person who wrote in the Clog would be a Clogger. :)
