Switzerland :P
Great LifeStyle(a bit expensive though..)and a veryyyy calm place..(tends to be boring sometimes :P)..
my dreamplace is South Korea, somewhere between Busan and Seoul..why..?
-love the food
-love noodles
-love kimchi
-love the lifestyle
-love the country
-love the shows
-love the people
-love the brands..hum no, not the brands ^^;
..one bad thing thought..i won't see things like in Switzerland(like supercars, thousand of banks, etc..) which is one of the most expensive country in the world..
the big question you have to ask yourself, is:
what do you want to have/feel in your new place..?

I'm in Norhtern California. 2 hours to the beach and 2 hours to a mountain peak.
Pros: Extremely beautiful geography, friendly people, great food (lots of fresh whole foods year round), lots of history & culture, young and vibrant feel to the state/area.
Cons: Taxes and property prices.
If I could live in any US city: Seattle. My sister lives there and don't believe the rain hype. It does rain, but not every day all year. It's gorgeous, young/vibrant/trendy, and the best part is no state income tax! Runner up: Portland, ME.
If I could live in the country: New Mexico, Montana, Utah, Idaho, oh too many choices!
Foriegn country pick: South Africa, Maldives, Japan, oh too many choices here too!

Austin, TX!
Chamber of Commerce slogan: "Keep Austin Weird!"
Very diverse city in a most diverse state. Within a few hours driving time of Gulf Coast, Davis Mtns., Big Bend, Mexico, Houston, Corpus Christi, San Antonio and Dallas.
Great food, diversity, tolerance, conveniences, "Live Music Capital of the World", 6th Street, the Warehouse District, historical, cultural, museums, art galleries, sporting events on all levels and in all sports.

Vancouver is nice. Another good spot is Montreal. I love that city. Great city to explore, unique cute neighborhoods, cosmo feel, very diverse, great food!

a2 - You must be near me - geographically speaking. I am in the Stanislaus National Forest close to Tahoe. I like it here because I like the seclusion, altitude and snow. I live far enough in the sticks that I am secluded, but can still get DSL. I Don't like CA for the liberal atmosphere and the taxes. If I had my choice, I would like the Northern East Coast of the US, or East Coast of Canada. Or Alaska. Did I say I like snow??

We're practically neighbors! I'm down the hill more around El Dorado National Forest. I too love the seclusion yet enjoy being close enough to a city (Sac & Reno). I'm a huge outdoor person, we climb, ski, hike & bike. I'm with you on the snow!
Yeah, CA is a bit more liberal than I like, not that I'm super right wing or anything. I just wish my taxes didn't go to so many programs I don't agree with. Especially since they are sooo high. Then I look out my window at the mountains or reflect after a day on a peak and understand that it's worth it!
