Character design software..?

Guys, I'm in need of software that will allow me to quickly mock-up character designs. I'm sure there are some around, that allow stuff like switching around facial features to describe someone. But I'm not sure as to what I should google...

I need it for my final exams this year (high school). Can anyone help?
