Blinksale: Easy, painless, online invoicing for small businesses

Etiquette ?

Hello all,

I'm new to this and want to make sure I don't breach any etiquette rules, so I thought I'd post a few questions.

1) What's the best way to get icons? Should I just find people who have them and ask? Is it best to post something here? I really need to build up my collection, but I don't want to piss anyone off by randomly asking for icon sets all the time.

2) What about giving out sets? Do poeple generally appreciate being given unsolicited sets?

I know these ?s may sound silly, but I couldn't find any info on the site, and I want to be a good Icon Buffet citizen.

Thanks!

I myself do not like unsolicited sets.

Randomly asking for sets or posting a blog asking for them is great as it helps people get points and either way everyone is happy to send.

Just remember if there is a set you don't want decline it so the sender can get back stamps

I myself like unsolicited sets. I think it's part of the game.

Definitely ask away! If someone sends you something you need, it gets them points. Win-win. (Example: I'm trying to get my Halo badge, and I'm only two gold deliveries away! Anyone need a gold set or two?)

I sometimes send unsolicited sets, but I do check their profile area to see if they have any notices regarding how many tokens they have left, or which sets they want first, that sort of thing. Also, I usually don't send more than two per person at a time. I try not to be annoying.

EVERYONE (with stamps) be wantin' to send you sets - the more ye be askin', the more people be likin' ye. Askin' in a blog will usually get ye the set in minutes.

Me thinks most people dislike unsolicited sets. Me warns people "Do not send sets unless I request them - I hold stamps hostage"

If'n ye have lots stamps gettin' dusty, then the blunderbuss approach (of sendin' unsolicited sets) be a way to score a few deliveries.

i have on my profile whether or not i have tokens and do not really enjoy getting sets when i have no tokens but i think it depends on the person....

However every now and again, someone posts a blog asking for the stuff you need. So reading the blog is a great way to pick up extra points. But to do that you have to have the sets the person wants.

I too am not a fan of unsolicited sets but don't mind them every now and then. I have found the community here to be dead friendly so I like to just make friends, post whispers and post blogs.

If you're wanting to boost your points it's great to arrange trades with other people - you both get sets and get to send sets so everyone wins.

I'm getting pretty hooked on the IB game.
