What are you most proud of?
I like to see digitally created/manipulated images/graphics and so I'm posting to ask anyone to post a link to something that you're most proud of creating. I think telling a little about the image and your skills would be fun too. This thread is intended as a 'pat on the back' for anyone that has created something they are proud of, so please keep your comments positive. :)
Ok here's mine:
I'm a self taught hobbyist and don't do any designs for pay. I'm most proud of my fanlisting for lotions and creams header image and color scheme. I had chosen the photo from fotolia and started working on it but something about it just didn't seem right to me. I got some help from Birgit and she taught me a new trick or two about how to set up the image best for the subject matter. It made me pretty proud to have tried and had the opportunity to learn something new. While I can't take full credit for the result, I'm still definitely proud of it.

Well, I don't really have any talents to be honest, I am a noob at photoshop but I was able to pull off a pretty cool pic for my myspace default pic. I used the photocopy option twice and then filled in the scratchy black specs with white and visa versa to give it a smooth look, I just left the detail of the facial features and I deleted everything except my head. Here it is. Photoshopped SpasticNate

I like the tryptichon I made for a local (Vienna) mens fashion store. It's 3 x 5 meters and I did it completely in Illustrator. It was amazing to see it life at the opening :-) More to come...

Back in ’02, I was doing the usual interview circuit. A design shop here and there with the occasional ad agency tossed in for flava. Austin had a really poor market back then, so design jobs were scarce (understatement). I had seen an ad in the paper (should have been a warning right there) for a shop in Georgetown seeking a designer. Being quite the hungry fish, I snapped onto the hook.
Interview goes alright. Portfolio is tossed about. Questions are answered. Info about the shop trickles out, but I’m thinking positively. At the end, they ask me to partake in a little test. I can use any of the software they have on their main machine to create something very specific: A space scene with a ringed planet.
I got the impression these guys were looking for someone to do more web design than print, so I took that as the basis for whatever I would create. I made a cheesy ringed planet with four moons orbiting it which were rollover links to various sites. It was Mystery Meat Navigation at its finest. I got the job, but not because I had knocked their socks off with a stellar image of celestial wonder. I had the better overall interview. Not to put too fine a point on it – what I did was absolute shit. I couldn’t have been more disappointed in how it turned out.
Ok, so I had the job, but it really bothered me that I couldn’t illustrate something as seemingly simple as a space scene. So I practiced, played, researched, drank coffee in the wee hours and taught myself how to make the scene they were looking for.
I love the new knowledge I gained from creating this scene. I am very proud of how the “redux” turned out. It’s even available as a desktop. I’ve posted it before, so it won’t be new to some (or most) here.

I love creating skins for various applications. I think to date my favourite creation is a skin called BareClaw.
I too have created a space scene. It's a combination of various techniques I picked up late one night.

@tamashii, that is really impressive!! And I loved the story!

I'm particularly proud of my website layout : www.reticula.fr
Since i've bought the domain name (2001) i've made 3 or 4 layouts but they were never released because i've never been fully satisfied by the result. This is the first time i can say it perfectly fits my thoughts. Even if sometimes i can't help thinking that i should do it another way...
@tamashii is it all photoshoped or did you used some 3D software? anyway, very nice rendering!

Wow, all of these are really great.

I guess this site is my best design so far. Man, there are a lot of things I would change if I had the time. I'm more of a programmer, really.

Hey james, since your address was not a clickable, I highlighted it and googled, your IB profile was the 2nd major listing.
And to put in a link in the forum it is the standard anchor tag "<" followed by "a" a space then href="url">Stuff to be clickable< then "/"a>.
Hope that helps. It's kinda hard to enter it without it actually being created.

Oooh Jen, love the fanlisting layout :D
I haven't been able to design a single thing recently (well, nothing not connected to work) but the last, I suppose, that I still feel pretty proud of is my writing/lit blog, Seasonal Plume. It loads a bit slow though especially on dialup (oh the horror), should really do something about that.
Work-related, I'd recently made a sort of AJAX autocomplete field for one of our in-house applications :D Like, you type in a name and users show up which you can select. :D It's nifty! (Yes, I'm new to AJAX, lol.)

Well, here is mine (and the story). After finishing my website design training, I needed someplace to show off my online portfolio. At the same time my company had outsourced a site redesign, and while I had given them a mock-up of the site we wanted, they were having real problems with things as simple as the buttons we wanted. So I built this site for my job seeking portfolio. I liked it, but did not really think that it was a showcase for me.
So somone introduced me to a site that trains in skills like Flash, and I started to develop a new site. I have very big plans for this site, and as a result some things (such as the button animation) have proved very difficult to achieve. Anyway, here is the mock-up of the new site's home (landing) page. (graphic only - non-functioning .png file)

@vinz: all Photoshop. There are about 30+ layers in the file. The planet is only 7 layers. I put up the full planet scene without the "widescreen" bars.
There is some really nice stuff going on in here. Fantastic work, everyone!

Very nice work everybody! :)

@tamashii - I think that you are well on your way to being able to achieve the celebrity of my favorite digital artist - Bert Monroy.
His digital artwork Damen is truly amazing, and if I remember correctly all done in Photoshop and Illustrator.
tamashii on Jun 14, 2007
@gswd: That guy is a nut! Certifiable. The first time I ever went to his site, I spit whatever frosty beverage I was drinking all over the screen, myself, the desk, my taxes, my cat, everything.
I love his work. I am always fascinated and inspired (with a hint of intimidation) by photorealistic artists such as Monroy.
bjendrick on Jun 15, 2007
I'm... wow... I... there aren't words. Unbelievable, and I've never seen computer graphics so stunning. Absolutely unreal.
And yes. Certifiable.

There is so much talent here! Thank you all so much for sharing. Keep them coming! :)
