Doctor Who Fans Unite
I'm not looking to start a new 'guild' or 'group' or whatever. I want folks to just show their love for a great show.
I'm in need of icons, specifically anything Tower Grove or Manhattan that I don't currently have. Send on over to me, and I'll accept them if, and only if, you have "Doctor Who" in your list of favorites.
Yes, I'll check.
Once I've received all I can, I'll decline the rest so I don't hold on to any stamps for a week.
And, on the flip, if you need anything from me, let me know in my box.
Thanks for playing. :)
EDIT: Also going to include the New York series in my wish list here. Note, this includes Shushinobi.

Sent 1 of each. Which is your favorite Dr.?

Oooh, that honestly is a tough one. Always loved the 4th (Tom Baker), but both the 9th (Christopher Eccleston) and 10th (David Tennant) Doctors have been great.

I sent you what I could...hope it helps...send me anything that I don't have if you want to use some stamps...
Cheers.

theshipster: Guess you missed the whole point of this post/game. Sorry, but not accepting.
theshipster on May 23, 2007
Sorry. I guess I didn't read thoroughly enough. Will you accept now? If not, it's OK...
ftapao on May 23, 2007
Hopefully you don't decline after I say it, but my favorite one of the "old" Doctors was Peter Davison. I know, I know, I'm a heretic. Nine and ten are both amazing, though.

@ftapao: Absolutely nothing wrong with that. :) And you're not the first person I've heard say that.

I liked 4 (Tom Baker) but 9 (Chris) was almost the same mentality.. I got my fiance hooked on 9 and she was pissed when he was killed/regen I am slowly weening her onto Tennant... and Torchwood

Torchwood! Can't wait for those DVDs to come out. And my wife was much the same about the 9th. She was extremely upset that he only lasted the one season, but the 10th has finally started to grow on her. But now she's pissed, after we finished the second season DVDs, that Rose is off the show. Ah well!

Torchwood is frustrating for me. I want so badly for it to be good. Captain Jack was the Coolest. Guest. Ever. on Doctor Who, but the writing has been somewhat uneven on TW. I'm really looking forward to his episode with Tennant.

I prefer 10 over 9; started watching the Doctor in the late '80s ... Sylvester McCoy [7]

Doctor Who is a lovely lovely thing.
I've sent you Tower Grove Wedding.

I grew up w/Tom Baker as the dr.. so he was my favorite for ages.. but i love the 10th doctor now.. and I am so GLAD rose is off the show.. her whining got really annoying. Can anyone say Martha Jones? IMO the best Dr. sidekick. ever. :^D
iqon on May 24, 2007
Tom Baker is my favorite Doctor and Leela the best sidekick.

I like most of the Doctors. I adore the eighth and ninth, dislike the sixth and find the tenth rather dull.
caradotcom on May 24, 2007
Sent over Manhattan Night Life. Love Dr Who. Grew up on reruns on PBS. The new series are fun. I'll be curious with the next series in terms of sidekicks. Tom Baker was definately a favorite and there were a few others too. :)

Thanks to all the Whovians that played along. Appreciate it.

Just caught up on this thread.
The new season (Dr #10 season #2) doesn't start for me until July. Have not seen or heard about the Torchwood series. Hopefully it will also appear on SciFi Channel.

Here in Australia we're still waiting for Tennant series 2 ("returns soon"!!) and Torchwood is starting next week!
I'm definately a 'current gen' Who watcher--I used to occassionally watch the old reruns but Eccleston really brought the show to life for me. He was tough to replace although Tennant was good fun (in his first series at least).

I'm a bit too young to remember the old doctor (though I do remember the daleks) but Eccleston is excellent. The episode with the 'empty child' freaked me out!

@gswd - Being in the states kinda sucks cause we are a year behind.. You have to be very carefull if you don't want to spoil any of the episodes when you are on Dr Who chat boards/message boards.. I hate when I am watching a new episode and know what is about to happen.. takes all the fun out of it for me.
