New Chef Delivery
I'm sure it has something to do with the new servers or the super secret thing that's going on but could I just point out that it's now the 20th and only 3 sets have been released this month which means group 4 schedules haven't had any sets for weeks. If we've been forgotten here's a timely reminder. :o(

soprano on Sep 20, 2007
Yeah my friend hasn't got anything for weeks. I think he's group 4.
danielsemper on Sep 20, 2007
Uff, then I think I am group 4 too.
elnitido52 on Sep 20, 2007
Many VIP's are going to waste their tokens because of that (if they have all sets so far). They haven't found new sets to spend their tokens on.
kitt on Sep 20, 2007
Group 4 rules! Of course, maybe we're group 1, and they just started counting at 2.

Tell me about it. I have 21 Tokens with a refill date in 6 days and nothing to spend them on. I forfeited 14 Tokens last month. There really needs to be some type of Token/Stamp exchange program. I suggested one that would work to the Chefs 3 months ago.
Wile on Sep 20, 2007
@dyar, I posted something like that some days ago too ...
31 tokens left, refill in 3 weeks of course, but I lost 11 tokens last week ... and it seem to take the same way this month :'(
cheiie on Sep 20, 2007
In the same boat - 20+ tokens to waste if nothing gets released :(
soprano on Sep 20, 2007
(In case anyone missed it, see Where Be Your Icons, Yarr!.)
JBVisions on Sep 20, 2007
If the last free delivery you got was Manhattan Atmosphere then you're delivery group 4.
renbot on Sep 20, 2007
I'm group 4. :( WOE!
debbye on Sep 20, 2007
i's a 4! i know, i know … so what !
i'm approaching the "All Sets/No Stamps" clan and am a firm supporter of the Token/Stamp exchange program. i'd even support a way to "buy" stamps with points (optional, of course) !
so far, i've been able to squeek by every month with filling requests, but i'm always on the brink of calling on friends to fill my requests. i know that i am not alone in this! :D
jmnovak on Sep 20, 2007
Heh, the silver lining for me is that I'm not falling further behind... I may actually join the all-sets clan someday! :-p
FallenAngel on Sep 20, 2007
could I just point out that it's now the 20th and only 3 sets have been released
It's probably got something to do with the fact that I'm away from home on holiday with friends at the moment and only able to log in occasionally on my friend's laptop - I asked the chefs not to release anything while I was away so I didn't miss any fun. ;-p ;-)
JBVisions on Sep 20, 2007
You have friends!!! How did that happen ;o)
If it is all your fault you do realise that painful things are going to happen.
rossanyl on Sep 20, 2007
@debbye: it's been 2 months now that I have no stamps left. I soon as I received a set, my stamps are gone and I have to dispatch the extra requested set to some friends. I will looooooooove to be able to exchange points for stamps! It is very difficult to "play" without referal :(
debbye on Sep 20, 2007
so that's why we don't see much of FA!
she's feeling guilty for mucking things up!
iqon on Sep 20, 2007
Simple solution to wasted tokens and no stamps:
allow users to delete icon sets from the collection, then they buy them back for more stamps.
dyar on Sep 20, 2007
^ in that case everyone would delete Bronze Sets and buy them back for 1 Token but get 5 Stamps, quite a good exchange ratio.
debbye on Sep 20, 2007
cool @iQon & dyar!
debbye on Sep 20, 2007
on second thought - über cool!
soprano on Sep 20, 2007
I'm guessing that IB's way of calculating tokens/stamps doesn't allow this. (Probably the stamps are just a calculation that uses the # of sets sent out, etc. I believe that they have a record of every delivery we've ever sent.)
Denise on Sep 20, 2007
"Many VIP's are going to waste their tokens because of that (if they have all sets so far). They haven't found new sets to spend their tokens on."
If it wasn't because I love the chefs sooo much and want to support the only way I can, I would disenroll from the VIP program! I keep forfeiting tokens!
iqon on Sep 20, 2007
debbye if ye thinks that be cool, imagine teamin' with 'nuther VIPer and buying AHS. . .TWICE A MONTH 'nd then ye be droppin' 10 tokens on bronze fer the stamps.
anti on Sep 20, 2007
@debbye nice use of umlaut!
debbye on Sep 20, 2007
@least - or anti - or … … thanks!
@iQon - what would be cool, would be the deleting of bronze sets, and buying them back for one token, and then getting 5 stamps! it would keep the VIPs busy, therefore keeping the VIPs. if the current rate of new sets keeps up, why do any of us need 30 tokens a month, if we only lose them at the next refresh. i don't mind spending money in support of the Buffet, in fact it is a way of giving back for years of have my addiction fed for nada! it is also, one of my favorite forms of entertainment! i get to rub elbows with a bunch of pixelated scalawags from all seven seas & a few little hamlets, as well! where else do i get to receive a compliment from a hick in the Boonies on my typographical brilliance?
i digress! it's obvious that we need some way of increasing the stamp numbers. it's not only an issue of the number of sets released, although, the more icons the merrier. it all ties into the way our interest can be entertained for the duration. i also think that not solving this problem will eventually be a deciding factor for people to not renew their VIP status.
Personally, i would be severely bummed if that day comes.
rajr19 on Sep 20, 2007
the last free delivery i got was legend of modena.
rajr19 on Sep 20, 2007
so i guess i'm in group one?
i spend one token a day, leaving me with enough tokens at every time.
gswd on Sep 20, 2007
I guess I am in the same Group with rajr19, as my last token-less delivery was LoM. 2 sets released since then, so the delivery after next is a freebie.
JBVisions on Sep 21, 2007
Groups - Last delivery this month:
Group 1 - Legend of Modena
Group 2 - Halifax Knick-Knacks
Group 3 - Marseilles Celestial
Group 4 - nothing for ages, it's been weeks! :o(
seanhussey on Sep 21, 2007
I was worried that, even being VIP, people who didn't already have all of the sets wouldn't be able to catch up and collect everything because about 30 tokens worth of icons should be released every month. It's looking more and more like it's worth it to be VIP only if you don't have everything already. And maybe then only month to month.
What advantages have VIPs gotten so far? I know there's the Diamond Delivery and the discount in the store (and, of course, the extra tokens (and therefore stamps)), but have any of the other special things that were mentioned been delivered?
Phate on Sep 21, 2007
ok... if jbvisions list is correct, i must be in group 4. I mean, my last free delivery was Manhattan Atmosphere, but i'm note sure. But for me, it's not a problem. I'm not a vip so i get everything for free.
SuperLlamel on Sep 21, 2007
I'm in group 4 but at least I don't have all the sets so I won't waste my tokens.
elnitido52 on Sep 21, 2007
Sooner or later all VIPs will be in the same situation (Having all sets and tokens wasted). Chefs must change the program in order to verify at the refill time is the member have all sets and tokens remainig so they would be converted into stamps (5 stamps per token not spent). That way nobody will waste their tokens anymore.
jmnovak on Sep 21, 2007
@elnitido52: Naw, all the Chefs have to do, now that they've pushed off the contract work, is release more than 30 tokens worth of sets per month! Then there is no problem... except that no-one can get all the sets... :-)
danielsemper on Sep 21, 2007
That is a really great idea elnitido52!!
dyar on Sep 21, 2007
We've really gotten off topic here, but while we are I'll continue.
The suggestions made so far for a Stamp/Token exchange all upset the balance that is already in the marketplace. I made a suggestion to the Chefs in an email several months ago that will work.
That is to create a Bank (somewhat like a timeshare Bank) where members could deposit a maximum amount of Stamps or Tokens each month. If another Member wants Tokens s/he could go to the Bank and effect an exchange (at a pre-determined rate) for Stamps if there were a sufficient amount of Stamps in the Bank to complete the exchange. The same would work for exchanging Stamps for Tokens.
This way the balance of Stamps/Tokens wouldn't be upset, just redistributed
The downside to this is that it would have to be a VIP perk (VIP to VIP exchange only) to avoid people gaming the system. Plus VIP's have actually paid for the Tokens used in the exchange (which are now wasted each month). This way new VIP's to IB would have a chance to acquire a few more Sets each month, and older VIP's with all the Sets could get a few more Stamps each month.
jmnovak on Sep 21, 2007
@dyar: interesting idea... What would be the exchange rate, though? (I'm not suggesting a fatal flaw, just an interesting question posed by the idea!) The issue being that in regular trading, the token/stamp ratio varies depending on whether you are getting a bronze or gold set... The Chefs surely have enough data to set a fixed rate (or even a variable rate!) that reflects actual trading, or it could be approximated at 1:3...
dyar on Sep 21, 2007
My initial thought was a 1 (token): 3 (stamp) exchange rate. The member providing the Stamps would get Stamps back when they used their Tokens and the Member providing the Tokens would get Points when they used their Stamps. The actual average Token value of all Sets outstanding is currently 2.54. With the Chefs trying to keep a ratio of 50% Bronze, 25% Gold and 25% Silver this isn't going to change much.
This 1:3 Ratio would give a slight advantage to the person getting the Stamps which would be offset by the person getting the Tokens as the Sets are far more valuable than the Points.
anti on Sep 21, 2007
And by the way the new set is almost ready. Trippy.
