Can anyone explain
Why people post asking for sets and when you send them, just leave them sitting there until they expire after 7 days thus tying up your stamps?
I've tried to think of reasons but other than death or deliberate stamp tying uppering I can't come up with anything.

They are holding your stamps hostage! Yarrr!
It's standard Pirate Zombie Ninja Robot practice.

Don't you KNOW that each time someone's set expires, they gain an extra life (or 1000 points if they already have 99 lives)?
Nah, I think people tend to forget. Or why don't you ask those people directly?
JBVisions on Jun 05, 2007
It's remembering who they are. If you're sending out a lot of stuff and only doing it to requests, unless you've made a note of it......
I'll try to do better in future. :-)

Maybe they haven't been active since you sent them. There are different levels of icon addiction...
JBVisions on Jun 05, 2007
Well one has been zapped! Went to check as I sent two sets and it says account is no longer active. Did my stamps go down the drain with the account?
seanhussey on Jun 05, 2007
That happened to me and iconmaster said the delivery would expire in 7 days like normal.
JBVisions on Jun 05, 2007
Ahhh OK, so I get them back along with the 70 odd that I've mislaid somewhere in the buffet in the last 24 hours. LOL!
FallenAngel on Jun 05, 2007
I saw some stamps lurking under the salad bowl Jaybee - maybe they were your lost ones? :-p
webdezign on Jun 05, 2007
Ooooh do they expire after 7 days? Then I'm probably guilty, i have 24 stamps tied up from people who I have traded with but I dont get topped up for another 14 days. I probably need to drop a line to those users and appologise.
But in all honesty none of them said they would expire so maybe many users like me just did not know that would happen.
cboz on Jun 06, 2007
I've done that too.. trying to hang onto them until I get refilled. Although I haven't actually requested them, just happened to have them and wanted them. :)
JBVisions on Jun 06, 2007
Don't you get fed up with them just sitting there staring at you? :-)
seanhussey on Jun 06, 2007
When a new set is released and I don't want it, I will hold on to the first one sent to me. It's either unsolicited or from someone with whom I've traded before. If it's unsolicited, it keeps me from getting sent the delivery over and over and over. If it's from a friend, I'll reject it...and wait for the unsolicited one. :)
JBVisions on Jun 06, 2007
Hello friend :-)))))
cboz on Jun 07, 2007
Sometimes! But I feel bad rejecting them and then someone else send them...
aemcg on Jun 10, 2007
When you're emailed notification of a free delivery you have both the icon set's name, the point value, and member's name so it becomes easy to go back to that person for the set without holding their stamps hostage.
JBVisions on Jun 10, 2007
@ cboz - ahhhhhh aren't you cute.
No I'm not talking about sets sent on spec. You kind of expect to have to wait for a fair percentage of those, but if you're specifically asked for something then you assume the requestor will accept them.
blythebabe on Jun 14, 2007
ooo i did not know that! But luckily I have always rejected those when I am out of tokens. Why? Becos I know if I ever want any set, I just ask and many ppl will send to me! :)

9 days and counting and still no stampies come back :-(
Iconmaster you have a full breakdown of all my stamps and where they should be.

I have some lost stamps too ... maybe I should have given them a GPS before using them ? Chefs, can you add a GPS function to stamps ?

btw, I saw several days ago (maybe weeks though) explaining how to calculate lost stamps ... can anyone of you remind me what the formula was or point me to the post ?
JBVisions on Jun 14, 2007
It's here there's an excel spreadsheet
JBVisions on Jun 14, 2007
but it helps if you have a record of who you sent what to and when.

no, I don't have, because I'm not that maniac ;o) do you have such a list for u ?
gswd on Jun 14, 2007
Oooo. A list. To be checked twice maybe? And then you could also put smiley and frowny faces next to the people that hold hostage and those that don't.
JBVisions on Jun 14, 2007
Yep that's the one :-).
No I only kept a list the last week or so as I seemed to be losing stamps and wanted to check I wasn't going mad.

it's the same for me. I just posted this in its self thread ... and a note in iconmaster's box ...
austingirl on Jun 14, 2007
The excel sheet is wonderful! Unfortunately it does not tell you who is holding your stamps hostage. ;)
