The IBGG 2008 Big Quiz
Yep, it's finally coming! What is it? Well, it's a big quiz, and a chance to win some prizes - geeky prizes!!
When's it coming? It's coming tomorrow, Monday 28th January.
What is it? A big quiz. 100 general knowledge and geeky questions.
Who can play? Anyone can play! If you're an IB member you can play
What can I win? You can win some geeky prizes (real world prizes!) of a geeky nature. They're not huge prizes, but they're fun. Prizes will be allocated on a random basis until they run out. For the top place winners there may also be some IB points in it as well.
Where do I find out more? Keep your eyes peeled and check out this blog for further news. I have to work tomorrow, so it'll be tomorrow evening (UK time) before I'll get a chance to post details of the quiz.

Okay, sorry folks, I fell asleep after work last night so...*blush*...anyways, in order to remove the problem of me having to mark the quizzes and figure out who scored what for which questions etc., the quiz is housed on QuizStar which you'll need to sign up on to take the quiz (don't worry, they don't spam you or anything. I ran a Xmas quiz on another site using it and neither myself, nor anyone who joined in with the quiz has had any emails from them except the confirmation of their registration).
The quiz is basically 100 questions, with a time limit of 30 minutes set (to prevent Googling for answers). You get 3 attempts at the quiz, and you're highest score is the one I'll be looking for.
On the QuizStar site, to get started, click on the "student site" arrow, and register with your email address and a password (they don't send you spam or anything). You then need to find the quiz once you're logged in. Click on the "search" tab, and under either the "class" or "quiz" search, enter "IBGG" in the search box and click the "keyword search" button. The class and the quiz you're looking for is "IBGG" and "The Big IBGG 2008 Quiz". Tick the box next to either the class name or quiz name (depending which search you used) and then click "register". You'll then find yourself on the IBGG's class page where you can take any untaken quizzes (there's only one quiz for the class at the moment as I'm just using a trial membership on the site). To take the quiz, just click the "take" button and the first page of questions will appear.
The quiz is 100 questions - all the questions are either multiple choice or "true/false" type questions. There are some plain multiple choice questions, some with picture questions, and some with sound files. Remember to fill in your IB username as Q1 so I know who you are. As it's a Geek Girl's quiz there's a fair smattering of geeky questions in there, as well as a section of a few on my favouritest geeky film (check out my profile for which that might be), but if you're not the geeky type, don't despair, as a lot of the questions aren't entirely geeky, and there's a wide range of general knowledge questions in there.
When I ran the quiz on the other site, some people did have a few problems with the audio files for some of the questions, so you'll also find the audio files available to download on the IBGG forum. Speaking of the IB Geek Girl's forum, you might want to take a look around there before taking the quiz, as that's where you'll find the answers to a couple of the questions there. During the course of the time the quiz is running for I'll also be posting clues to random questions there.
The quiz will end on Monday, 11th February at 11.59pm, GMT, and the winners will be announced here on the 'buffet shortly thereafter.
As I said, prizes will be assorted geeky ones. I've not had chance to have a rummage through my prize stash yet, and it's a while since I looked, but I seem to recall that amongst other things I do have a couple of Geekman action figures left (they're so uber geeky they're totally cool, in a geeky kind of way! ;-)) as well as a variety of other geeky bits and pieces.
Anyways, without further ado, I now declare the IBGG Big 2008 Quiz officially open! All that remains is to wish you all good luck, and have fun with the quiz! :)

If you mean deliveries, um, I don't know yet. I've got most of the sets now and I'm still accepting deliveries from the prizes for the summer competition, so most of my tokens are tied up.
Nope, you don't have to be a geek girl - anyone can play. There are a fair number of geeky questions, and two or three which you'll need to visit the GeekGirl's forum to find the answer to, but probably around 70% of them are just general knowledge questions - I've recycled the quiz from a medical site, but replaced the specialist medical questions with the geeky ones.
