Blinksale: Easy, painless, online invoicing for small businesses

Chefs, a minute of your time, please!

There are a lot of rumors going around...

Please take a moment and let us know what is going on. Is IB on its last leg? Are you going to abandon it completely?

it's only fun for those who haven't collected them all. I am sure there are plenty of new members, so it can continue as is.

but … it bites for us! :(

well, seeing as how firewheel is technically no longer a going concern, and "alamofire" doesn't do design work, i think that it would be safe to say that IB is on it's way to the recycle bin. i'm sure it'll be up for another year or so, until the revenue generated by ads and the occasional stock set sale fails to pay the hosting costs. then, buh-bye, all, thanks for stopping by!

bummer, eh?

:)

Also remember that they did away with the Annual VIP Membership option. That means that with the closing of the virtual doors, no refunds necessary.

Have you guys seen the Alamofire website?

http://alamofire.com/

They "create brilliantly designed, social games for everyday people." While Packrat is featured all over their site, there's not a single mention of IconBuffet, which was their first "brilliantly designed social game".

Either they believe that IB is now an embarrassment in the "brilliantly designed social game" field, or it will soon be shut down.

Wow, this is really depressing.

Apparently we are no longer worth listening to... Without us packrat wouldn't be what it is

Sad... hopefully, it lasts long enough for me to get enough tokens to collect the rest of the sets. If not, I'm going to be that much more annoyed with the chefs.

IB was such a good idea. It's stupid that they can't find some reason (or people) to keep working on it.

B3llit0 on Jan 20, 2009

Hey chefs, are you listening to us? WE'VE OFFERED TO HELP OUT WITH THE SITE OR EVEN TAKE IT OVER BEFORE. THERE IS NO REASON TO SHUT IT DOWN. We've made suggestions– granted, they've been acknowledged by the chefs before. An acknowledgement, though, is not enough.

Let's all pretend we're in a restaurant. The users here are customers, and the chefs are the… chefs, and also the waiters. The waiters come to our tables, so that they can take our orders. We order. After "allowing 25 minutes for the dishes to be prepared", no food arrives at the table. We ask to talk to the chefs. "Hi, how can we help you?" We order the food again, but nothing comes.

I think that the expectations of this community are very reasonable, and there isn't really any reason for this kind of action on the part of the chefs– rather, a lack thereof– to continue.

ARRRR, me monkey think ye be crybabies. Embrace change. Change be good, Mr Obama said so himself.

Obama (i hid under my bed wit my binky) Not a good sign when I join a website and this is at the top of the blog list! Please throw your unused and gently used icons this way please.

@alien - I would love to toss a few sets your way, however, with no sets released recently (like about a month I believe) I have no stamps for the ether-carrier that would deliver them to your eager clutches.

SonicBoom on Jan 20, 2009

I hope I can finish collecting all my sets before they decide to shut down this place. By my calculations, my sets should be completed by the end of October 2009. And, I'm still on VIP status. It's funny how one of the benefits of being a VIP (as listed on the Help page) is "an occasional IconBuffet VIP exclusive surprise." I have yet to receive this exclusive suprise. {•…•}
