I agree...you can never have too many shoes. At last count, I have 72 pair and more than half of them are black. I wonder if that says anything about my warped personality?

You can never have enough red shoes or red purses.
You can never have too many shoes, period! Although having them in an odd number can be a little inconvenient. ;)

You'll have earned a cheese badge for uploading an avatar, but you have to log out & back in for it to show up. You can log in with your username or email, by the way, even though the form specifically says email.

Welcome, it works just like that, post up a request (on the general board like you did, or in someone's personal blog), and it gets delivered. Currently things get delivered almost instantaneously when there's lots of people on. Feel free to request any other sets you're looking for, as long as you have tokens.
