[FAQ] Badges

There's been discussion about badges all over the blogs, and since I am weird like that, I decided to make a little FAQ and add to it or change things as new info comes up.

Please feel free to point out things I've missed (links to the source blog where info came up would be appreciated)

Badges FAQ

Q: What are badges?

A: Badges are awards you can earn as you send and receive sets, make friends, and invite others. Pick up 5 Gold sets? That's a badge. Showing up on dozens of friends lists? Another badge. Rack up a metric boatload of points? You get the idea. We're not going to tell you about every badge; part of the fun is figuring out what they are and what you'll have to do to earn them.

Q: What is that little "x" on my badges?

A: I think what you're seeing as X's are actually sparkles. ;)

Source: Iconmaster on this blog

Q: I uploaded my avatar and I still don't have my cheese, what do I do?

A: That happens sometimes, you just need to log out and back in again and it will be there. This also happened with the rockstar badge and Iconbuffet birthday badge, so try it too if you think a new badge should be appearing an it isn't, logging out and in might make them appear.

Q: How many different types of badges are out there right now?

A: Currently, there are

cheese wedge - for uploading an avatar

cupcake with candle - Iconbuffet birthday (for a year of membership) (+100 points)

For number of deliveries received:
bronze medal - for receiving 5 bronze sets
bronze bar - for receiving 10 bronze sets
bronze bust - for receiving 20 bronze sets

silver medal - for receiving 5 silver sets
silver bar - for receiving 10 silver sets
silver bullet - for receiving 20 silver sets (+200 points)

gold medal - for receiving 5 gold sets
gold bar - for receiving 10 gold sets
gold pot o' gold - for receiving 20 gold sets (+200 points)

diamond - for receiving 1 diamond set
tri-diamond - for receiving 3 diamond sets (not earned yet) (+1000 points)

Pink Birthday Hat - for receiving 100 sets (+250 points)

Friend related:
Sunglasses (Rockstar) = I have 25 fans (a.k.a. people that have friended you) (0 points)

Referral related:
Megaphone (Recruiter) = I have 5 referrals ( 0 points)
Mic (Broadcaster) = I have 10 referrals (+ 100 points)
TV (National News) = I have 25 referrals (+ 300 points)
Blue planet (Blogosphere) = I have 100 referrals (+1500 points)

Point related:
3 Cherries = I have 5,000 points (+500 points)
3 Coins = I have 10,000 points (+1,000 points)
3 Sevens = I have 50,000 points (+5,000 points)
3 Stars = I have 100,000 points (not earned yet)(+10,000 points)

For number of deliveries sent:
Angel Wings = I've sent 200 deliveries (+100 points)
Golden Halo = I’ve sent 50 Gold deliveries (+250 points)
Gold Top Hat = I’ve sent 200 Gold deliveries (+1000 points)
Gold Crown = I’ve sent 500 Gold deliveries (+2000 points)

Selected style family related:
City - for 10 Manhattan deliveries owned (+100 points)
Eye - for 10 Alexandria deliveries owned (+100 points)
Red temple - for 10 Shanghai deliveries owned (+100 points)
Boat - for 10 Marseilles deliveries owned (+100 points)

Q: But I saw a ________ on someones page and you say it can't be earned yet. I thought they had them because they've sent lots of gold sets

A: No, It's a glitch

It's confusing, but the # deliveries badges are actually calculated on the deliveries you own, not how many you've sent.

So the ___________ showing up for anyone is a bug related to deliveries getting counted twice in some cases.

(This will be fixed, so if you have the badge and lose it shortly, well... we'll give you the opportunity to earn it back.)

Source: Iconmaster on this blog

NOTE: since that comment, the sets have increased and now there are enough silver sets to earn the silver bullet

Q: Do we know what this badge is for yet?
http://www.iconbuffet.com/badges/20.gif

A: This has been answered by Iconmaster:

Yeah -- the sheriff badge had a short life. It was discontinued after a couple hours.

Later he added:

Yes, the sheriff badge found its way onto a profile for a brief time. We had planned to use it as an award to those who helped us track down duplicate accounts.

It was dropped as being too "secret police," but we still appreciate the tip-offs we get about dupes.

Source: Iconmaster (posted bellow in comments)

Q: Are these all the badges that I will be able to get?

A: No

Soon we'll add some badges so you can actually see how many friends you have officially invited. So much time, so little to do.

Source: Josh on this blog

There are many, many more badges still to be implemented. Shall I be a tease and preview some of the badge images, with no explanation whatsover?

http://firewheeldesign.com/client/iconbuffet/mystery-badges.gif

Source: Iconmaster on this blog

On another blog, Iconmaster has posted another clue as to the meaning of more badges:

And here's that clue again. (Isn't it obvious?)

Q: So what are all the icons that have been discovered so far?

A: There are a lot, and we don't know what some will be awarded for yet, still click the links if you wanna take a peek at them and make up your own ideas.

Q: What's in the Iconbuffet set?

A: It's the badges in icon form (well some of them) and the stamp and token icons too.

From the set we get more of a description of some of the badges, from the chef's themselves, which might help in figuring out what the badges are for:

rockstar > 21
recruiter > 22
broadcaster > 23
national-news > 24
jackpot-10000 > 25

Q: Is it true that badges can earn points?

A: yes, Iconmaster has so far stated the following in the comments below:

Here are all the point values:

20 silver deliveries - 200 pts
20 gold deliveries - 200 pts
3 diamond deliveries - 1000 pts

25 fans - 100 pts

10 referrals - 100 pts

sent 50 gold deliveries - 100 pts

IconBuffet birthday - 100 pts

10 of a selected style family - 100 pts

NOTE: the point values for the following badges have changed, as per a comment by iconmaster on THIS blog

"rockstar" badge is now a zero-point badge (which may have removed 100 of your points)

"golden halo" badge is now worth 250 points instead of 100

the point changes are reflected better and clearer in the badge summary above in this blog

Q: How many sets per type of delivery badge are out now?

A: Currently, there are 140 sets in circulation, of which:
1 is diamond
35 are gold
35 are silver
69 are bronze

watehey on Mar 24, 2007

Nice summation, but you might as well add the silver bullets and pots-o-gold since we know what those are for - perhaps with the notation that no one has (really) earned them yet.

ChickAzul on Mar 24, 2007

I was wondering about including those :) will do *goes to edit*

Sly on Mar 24, 2007

Very good - I agree about the bullet and pot-o-gold as all the regulars have seen/read the comments about them already.

ChickAzul on Mar 24, 2007

ok I added them to the list :D

dyar on Mar 24, 2007

Excellent ChickAzul. You want to do one on Stamps and Points also?

ChickAzul on Mar 24, 2007

I was thinking about it :) I just need to find all the blogs with info. I wanted to start out with badges as it's been something I've been following more closely. I'm out now for a few hours but when I come back I might give them a go.

justG Vip-micro on Mar 24, 2007

Nice one. Thanks for this!

josh Vip-micro on Mar 24, 2007

Nice write up. You did a pretty great job of summing up our current lot. There'll be more coming!

ChickAzul on Mar 25, 2007

@justG: glad you liked it

@josh: thank you, I cant wait :D

Baldwin on Mar 29, 2007

Good summary, I didn't know about the 3rd-tier gold and silver ones before this.

tamashii on Mar 29, 2007

This is an excellent FAQ, ChickAzul! Well done.

I can't believe I hadn’t noticed the "mystery avatars" before (in a blog I posted in, no less). Watehey probably has a couple of them dead on, while some guesses would mean only one person gets that kind of badge. That might be kewl, but I think a lot of people would be bummed they couldn't get an "Oldest Member" badge simply because they signed up a millisecond after the first one.

iconmaster on Mar 29, 2007

There's no "oldest member" badge.

tamashii on Mar 29, 2007

hence my saying I don't think some of watehey's guesses were accurate. basically, he has 3 that would be owned by only one person each (or all three owned by the same person).

Oldest Memeber
Coolest Avatar
Most Traveled

Personally, I really don't know what any of the mystery badges would be for. I am just incredibly excited to see them implemented!

iconmaster on Mar 29, 2007

Right. So far every badge we have in mind can be attained by everyone (though some are very difficult to get).

ChickAzul on Mar 29, 2007

(^_^) oh I can't wait for more to come out

mcd on Mar 29, 2007

Nice FAQ, Chick.

ChickAzul on Mar 29, 2007

thank you :D

casicasi on Mar 29, 2007

Hola...Yo no entiendo nada da da de nada da da...

ChickAzul on Mar 30, 2007

mmmm tal vez seria bueno que lo tradujera :P alomejor pronto eh ;)

dishg on Mar 30, 2007

Thanks for the info, Chick. Wish I could bookmark informative blogs... in due time, I guess. =)

justG Vip-micro on Mar 30, 2007

@ dishg: You can, just as you bookmark any other URL. It's not site-specific, but at least it's easily recalled.

dishg on Mar 30, 2007

aha! got it... but was wondering if the site itself can create favorites in the profile or tabs... the browser bookmark is fine for now, thanks. =)

ChickAzul on Mar 30, 2007

:) glad you find it useful dishg, and I too wish for way to bookmark onsite, the easyest way I can find posts now is if I can remmeber who wrote the blog, and then go to their profile and look in their blog list

WebSiteGuru on Apr 02, 2007

Nice Info!

ChickAzul on Apr 03, 2007

thanks :D

dyar on Apr 05, 2007

bumpity bump

dyar on Apr 10, 2007

nope, good find though.

Speaking of Badges, it seems about time for the Chefs to reveal a new one.

rajr19 on Apr 10, 2007

nice faq

Novak Vip-micro on Apr 10, 2007

@fuseunderground...hmm, is that a sheriff's badge? for moderators, perhaps? naah, too easy. though, from the name you might guess it's from having 20 deliveries? bah, i'll go insane just waiting for all the goodness.

anywho, well done on the faq ChickAzul!

tamashii on Apr 10, 2007

@Novak: The 20 Delivery Badges have been revealed already (by a bug, actually). Silver is a floating, silver bullet of sorts and Gold is a pot of gold. Bronze being the bust that many already have.

It does look a lot like some kind of “enforcer” reference, doesn’t it...

dyar on Apr 10, 2007

My guess is a Circle of Friends Badge

ChickAzul on Apr 11, 2007

thanks everybody, I'm gonna try to keep it as current as I can, so please fill me in if I miss anything on some other post/blog

thanks for the tip fuseungerground, I added it to the faq (^_^)

it reminds me of a sheriff badge too

Novak Vip-micro on Apr 11, 2007

@tamashii...yeah, but if i accidentally revealed a graphic via a bug, i'd be tempted to change it entirely. but, that's just me. :-) point taken, though.

@dyar i like the CoF idea...a little less sinister. ;-)

iconmaster on Apr 11, 2007

Yeah -- the sheriff badge had a short life. It was discontinued after a couple hours.

tamashii on Apr 11, 2007

short life? so ... it existed on people’s profiles at some point? What did it represent?

ChickAzul on Apr 13, 2007

I'm curious as to what it was for too :O

opello on Apr 17, 2007

Or the Wings, or the Eye of Horus ...

iconmaster on Apr 17, 2007

Yes, the sheriff badge found its way onto a profile for a brief time. We had planned to use it as an award to those who helped us track down duplicate accounts.

It was dropped as being too "secret police," but we still appreciate the tip-offs we get about dupes.

tamashii on Apr 17, 2007

I’m sorry, that’s just awesome. Who was the mole? He/She should be praised.

I still can’t believe people would actually go to the effort of “cheating” a system such as this.

TIP: Never implement a method of exchanging tokens from one user to the next (or stamps or points, for that matter). If IB is experiencing this kind of behavior already, then if the aforementioned becomes available, IB will be the next (albeit ridiculous and low-key) target of RMT.

ChickAzul on Apr 19, 2007

It's nice to know what it was for :D thank you! can't wait till more are revealed

ChickAzul on Apr 20, 2007

Added the names of the badges in the iconbuffet set. Ideas on what they mean are welcome :D

ChickAzul on Apr 25, 2007

updated to include the diamond badge/set

tamashii on Apr 25, 2007

Well - we now know some more badge “definitions”:

Megaphone (Recruiter - #22) = I have 5 referrals
Mic (Broadcaster - #23) = I have 10 referrals
TV (National News - #24) = I have 25 referrals
3 Cherries (Jackpot-10000 - #25) = I have 5000 points
Golden Halo (#31) = I’ve sent 50 Gold deliveries

dyar on Apr 25, 2007

Angel Wings (#30) = I've sent 200 deliveries

dyar on Apr 25, 2007

@tamashii - if you want to add the angel wings to your list I'll delete these 2 posts. Might avoid some confusion.

tamashii on Apr 25, 2007

nah - ChickAzul is adding these to her main post above (I assume), so the more we add in the thread, the better the main post becomes.

Sunglasses = I have 25 fans

dyar on Apr 25, 2007

Sunglasses is #21 aka rockstar

ChickAzul on Apr 25, 2007

thanks! I'll that now :D

mik on Apr 25, 2007

I had to log out & back in for my sunglasses/rockstar/25 fans badge to kick in. In case anyone else is wondering why they don't have theirs, try that.

Is there, or will there be, some way to know how many people have you as a friend? Or how many deliveries we've sent?

quicksilver on Apr 26, 2007

iconmaster posted a picture on this blog that gives a small bit more info about badges. you might want to add that in too.

ChickAzul on Apr 26, 2007

edited to add that, thanks for the info!

Dave on Apr 26, 2007

I've had a go at extending that image a bit - can't figure most of them out tho..

Picture

Jen on Apr 26, 2007

Good Work Dave!

tamashii on Apr 26, 2007

That is some nice work, Dave. However, I would be a might upset if 50 diamond deliveries only netted me 100 points while 50 Gold garnered 250.

It would make sense that there would be 3 more badges for sending the other levels. Bronze is abundant so it would be a high number. Much more so than Gold. Perhaps 500 (as they already have a badge for 200 deliveries alone)? The points received are all 100, making them seem quite less in value compared to the Golden Halo. What isn’t on that list (to be expanded upon) is the 3-stoned ring. My guess: I've sent 30 Diamond deliveries. What kind of points do you get for something like that? Again, a guess: 1000 Points (delivering 30 diamonds is no easy task).

Like many have said, the “leaked” image suggests that they all involve deliveries. But only worth 100 points a piece? That seems odd. By the time you have made 1000 deliveries (which is more than 3 times what I did on the old system over the course of a year), you have a ridiculous number of points. 100 Points seems completely irrelevant.

That was a lot of talk from me… I’ll stop for now.

fuseunderground on Apr 26, 2007

I think the 'stone ring' is more likely to be for receiving 3(or 5 or 10!) Diamond deliveries, fitting in more with the other metal sets, just a thought

Dave on Apr 26, 2007

tamashii: Good point. Maybe the diamond one is only 10 deliveries... (the points are defiantly all 100) Also, I couldn't get exactly the same font sizes (not on a mac) so those gaps are give-or-take a few pixels

fuseunderground: I've noticed that all the received- messages have a capital D for Deliveries, and none of these do, so my guess is that they're all for sending. Could easily be wrong tho.

dyar on Apr 27, 2007

#32 is for 10 Manhatten Deliveries. Should now be a clue for some of the others.

tamashii on Apr 27, 2007

@dyar: Me thinks the Tree is related to Tower Grove.

Also, Cupcake badge = I’ve had my IconBuffet Birthday!

Both the City Badge and Cupcake Badge will give you 100 points.

tamashii on Apr 27, 2007

These are my guesses on the Family Badges:

City = 10 Manhattan Deliveries (confirmed)
Boat = 10 Marseilles Deliveries
Tree = 10 Tower Grove Deliveries
Pagoda = 10 Shanghai Deliveries
Circle Thingie = 10 Oslo Deliveries
Eye of Ra = 10 Alexandria Deliveries

mik on Apr 27, 2007

I've got a cupcake badge now but my points haven't changed.

Is it possible I got points for '25 fans' and 'IB birthday' at the same time, but the badges showed up separately? Getting the sunglasses was the last time my points changed.

tamashii on Apr 27, 2007

@mik: did you receive 200 points when you got the sunglasses badge? If so, then I could see your thoughts being the case. However, I think some others have said they did not receive the 100 points upon getting the badge.

mik on Apr 27, 2007

@tamashii: I think so (exactly 200pts at once, for whatever reasons). At the time I didn't know what the sunglasses were supposed to be worth, and I could have had points for deliveries kicking in then.

tamashii on Apr 27, 2007

Looking at a list of the icons again, and seeing that the Sheriff’s Star is still present, I am wondering if some repurposing is in order (or already planned). It has a bit of the bronze feel to it, so I suggest it could be used for X-number of Bronze deliveries sent. Much like the Golden Halo represents 50 Gold Deliveries sent, one for the bronze and silver sets seems appropriate. Obviously, the numbers for earning these badges would have to be substantially higher. The silver one would have to be a new one entirely.

Bronze Star = I’ve sent 250 Bronze deliveries
Silver Scepter = I’ve sent 125 Silver deliveries

Personally, I liked it being handed out to the “mole” (thanks for the email saying who you were, btw) but that would mean it couldn’t be obtained by everyone eventually. Having it be used for something else would be nice. No need to waste a perfectly good badge.

wmostrey on Apr 27, 2007

Ooh I love the birthday badge :) Nice way of rewarding old-time IBers, that's great!

mixrecords on Apr 30, 2007

Great FAQ! Thanks for the info on the badges and whatnot.

quicksilver on May 01, 2007

update tip: there are now 20 silver deliveries available, so the bullet can be earned

dishg on May 01, 2007

got a silver bullet, yay! =)

dyar on May 01, 2007

#29 will be for receiving 3 Diamond Deliveries

ChickAzul on May 01, 2007

glad to see there has been a lot of badge activity! thanks for the info, I've updated the original post to reflect all the news.

tamashii on May 01, 2007

Megaphone (Recruiter) = I have 5 referrals
Mic (Broadcaster) = I have 10 referrals (+ 100 points)
TV (National News) = I have 25 referrals (+ 300 points)

Noticed that your scores listed are not what iconmaster stated (nor are they consistent with what MobiTec received).

Recruiter = +100
Broadcaster = +300
National News = +500

iconmaster on May 01, 2007

It's 0, 100, 300 pts for 5, 10, 25 referrals.

cry187 on May 01, 2007

Oh, that's why I didn't get any points for the megaphone badge. Back to work on recruiting more members :D

ChickAzul on May 01, 2007

thanks iconmaster :D tamashii's comment confused me there a bit, since that part of info was straight from you

dyar on May 01, 2007

(nor are they consistent with what MobiTec received).

Recruiter = +100
Broadcaster = +300
National News = +500

That's not right if someone received a different Point distribution than others. I trust that the Chef's will get it right if that is the case.

tamashii on May 01, 2007

uhm… ya, what dyar said. I was watching MobiTec’s points pretty closely, to which I could swear he got 900 points from all his recruiter badges. Additionally, I copy/pasted iconmaster’s point explanations for reference (which I can no longer find). I am now completely confused.

Also, according to the “hint” posted, the Golden Halo used to be worth 250 points (maybe fuseunderground can tell us what he got for the badge) - now it is listed at 200 by iconmaster here.

I am not trying to rock the boat, but it seems some conflicting info was definitely given.

ChickAzul on May 02, 2007

that IS weird... I don't really pay much attention to the point values, so I didn't really notice my point increase, especially since there were many new sets out at the same time (like the diamond delivery) and I sent out a bunch of them, I just figured that some of the points are for the sets and some are for the badges and as long as there isn't a way for me to tell for sure which came from where, I will assume that the badge values are what the chef's stated, call me naive.

I've always read the same point values for referrals though (from Iconmasters comments around the blogs).

About the hint, in a comment on another blog, Iconmaster pretty much explained it, and I do buy it. It would be wise though, for future teasers, not to show any info that is still a work in progress and subject to such a change, because it does lead to confusion.

iconmaster on May 02, 2007

The focus of that screenshot was not supposed to be the 3 pixels at the top. ;)

The values of the referral badges are 0, 100, 300. The value of the 50 gold deliveries badge is 100. If someone got some other values, it will get corrected eventually.

Note that we do reserve the right to change badge values as things play out and we decide a certain achievement is worth more than we thought. This isn't likely to happen, because recalculating everyone's scores is a trick. But we reserve the right all the same. ;)

fuseunderground on May 02, 2007

For the record I didn't notice how many points I got for the Halo, (am I the only one who has it?) I only notice how I am still so far from 10,000 points
:-(

tamashii on May 02, 2007

iconmaster wrote: I wouldn't rule out a tier 2 halo...

Well, slap my fanny and call me stupefied. That is amazingly cool!
@iconmaster: wasn’t trying to offend. You guys are certainly well within your rights to do whatever you like. It’s your show - and a damn good one at that. I was just getting really confused and had conflicting info that was only leading me down a further path of “Wha?!”

dyar on May 02, 2007

It looks like the Points for the Silver Bullet and Manhattan Deliveries were posted today.

rajr19 on May 03, 2007

halo gives you 250 points

ChickAzul on May 03, 2007

yes, I've modified that bit already :D

iconmaster on May 03, 2007

Yup, just when you thought everything was cleared up, I went and boosted the points for the halo.

Now they match what you saw in the hint, but conflict with what I explained above. Everybody clear? ;)

ChickAzul on May 04, 2007

Very :D glad that was cleared up (again), thanks!

electricnet Vip-micro on May 05, 2007

Seems a couple new badges were uploaded:
40 - Golden Hat
41 - Crown
42 - Blue planet with rings

ChickAzul on May 05, 2007

thanks! those werent there a couple of days ago when I checked last :D I will add them to the list

aaroncampbell on May 10, 2007

Now the "pot o gold" can be earned.

tamashii on May 10, 2007

OMG! Those look awesome!

I can't even begin to guess what those are for!!!

Except that I think the planet is for recruiting yet again: Galactic Traveler (or something like that).

aaroncampbell on May 10, 2007

My best guess on the other two are more deliveries (ie "I have 50 gold deliveries" and maybe 75 or 100?)
I can't blame them for planning ahead on that...at the rate they are releasing sets...

ChickAzul on May 11, 2007

updated to reflect new sets :D

fdev on May 16, 2007

Whoa.. thanks for the FAQ! I'm new and I've been wondering about those badges until I stumbled on this post... :)

fdev on May 16, 2007

IMHO, this post should be pinned...

ChickAzul on May 22, 2007

thanks :D glad it was helpful

dyar on May 23, 2007

#42 - Blue Planet with Rings is a Badge for 100 Referrals. I don't know how many Points are associated with it yet.

tamashii on May 23, 2007

wow - kinda cool I guessed that correctly. Didn't figure it would be for 100 referrals though…

iconmaster on May 23, 2007

I've been calling that one "blogosphere."

dyar on May 23, 2007

How many Points come with the "blogosphere."

Nice looking Badge

ChickAzul on May 24, 2007

edited to add the blogosphere badge :D

iconmaster on May 24, 2007

1500 points.

ChickAzul on May 24, 2007

thanks for the info :D

ftapao on May 27, 2007

@Iconmaster: I have 25 fans, but no points for the badge. Has there been a change to that badge's point value?

ChickAzul on May 29, 2007

yes, but it's been like that since May 3rd :D you can read iconmaster explanation on THIS blog

"rockstar" badge is now a zero-point badge

tamashii on May 31, 2007

What are the chances that either the Top Hat or the Crown are for owning 100 sets altogether?

I mean, Cr03 is set #90 and there are only 10 more to go before the 100th set (which I wager is gonna be hella awesome anyway).

dyar on Jun 21, 2007

Just a note to say that we haven't identified a Badge yet to go with the Taipei Family Sets.

ChickAzul on Jun 22, 2007

and I havent found any new badge gifs

we are at 98 sets now, so we are pretty close to finding out if we will get new badge for collecting the first hundred, but I'm also very curious as to what family style will reach 10 first. With todays release, shanghai is the closest with 8, but there are other sets with 7. What's your prediction about which one will reach the badge first?

dyar on Jun 22, 2007

I guess we can't count Shanghai Tech Vector, it's in my Shanghai Folder and used to be a Free Delivery but is no more.

ChickAzul on Jun 28, 2007

I added a new badge discovered by drelin", it's number 43, and it looks like a pink birthday hat

tamashii on Jun 28, 2007

Ima say for 2nd birthdays as I have now logged out twice and back in to no new badge for having 100 sets.

JBVisions on Jun 28, 2007

People coming up to their second birthday?

ChickAzul on Jun 28, 2007

can't be, that would be in October or November I think

JBVisions on Jun 28, 2007

Tamashii has all 100 sets and he's not got that badge. He's even logged out and back in.

JBVisions on Jun 28, 2007

Oh look, he's already said that :)

Psy2k on Jun 28, 2007

So what are the gold hat and crawn badges about...?

tamashii on Jun 28, 2007

My guess on the golden hat is having sent 100 Gold deliveries.

Really no clue on the golden crown.

ChickAzul on Jun 28, 2007

yea I have the 100 sets too, and no badge, I keep hoping it's just that they haven't activated it on the system, but I think that's not the deal.

I thought there would be a badge for having 50 bronze sets, but that didn't happen, so yea I am with tamashii in that they might be more "sent X number deliveries" badges.

Psy2k on Jun 28, 2007

The new badge (pink birthday hat) is for having 100 deliveries! Tamashi you should have got this now that it is enabled!

KatieK on Jun 28, 2007

I've got the pink hat. I just logged in/out. Perhaps enabling the badge was a bit late? But it says it's for having 100 deliveries.

anti on Jun 28, 2007

The Pink Birthday Hat brings 250 points! Yipee!

Stratification on Jun 28, 2007

Took a bit, but that's a nice surprise, I wasn't expecting to earn another points badge for a while.

ChickAzul on Jun 28, 2007

:D so I was correct! yay

Psy2k on Jul 21, 2007

Did anyone figured what the gold hat and crown badge are for? Maybe one is for senting 100 gold sets?

a2 Vip-micro on Jul 21, 2007

Nice work putting this all together for us! Thanks!

grantneufeld Vip-micro on Jul 26, 2007

iconmaster just twittered: “I see someone who isn't too far from earning the gold top hat...”

Psy2k on Jul 26, 2007

silveria I think :)

tamashii on Jul 27, 2007

I was close on my guess for the Golden Top Hat.

It is for 200 Gold Deliveries Sent. Silveria has it.

Also worth 1000 points.

mik on Jul 27, 2007

Hey I'm only 1 order of magnitude short!

ChickAzul on Jul 27, 2007

thanks for the info! I saw the twitter too but couldn't figure out who. I'm gonna add it to the list.

xentek on Jul 30, 2007

now we just need a 80x15 badge to use to link to our IB profile, a'la: http://dr.xnlb.com/img/badges/lastfm-button.png

tamashii on Jul 30, 2007

you mean like this: mini banner?

ChickAzul on Aug 29, 2007

update: family badges

SawanM on Aug 29, 2007

heyyy thanks for that :D

gswd on Aug 29, 2007

Hey tamashii, I had not seen that mini banner before. Good work. I will be implementing it soon.

SawanM on Aug 29, 2007

:D, nice, someone can make new ones as well using some online button maker.

axl163 Vip-micro on Aug 29, 2007

thank you very much for doing all this. i was actually looking for an FAQ =)

Jen on Aug 29, 2007

I like tamashii's blog sticker better, but here's the one that I made if anyone wants to use it. Just be sure to upload to your own server please.
IB Blog Sticker

SawanM on Aug 29, 2007

i think the mini banner looks better

thedudedean on Sep 07, 2007

Can we get special clan badges? Argghh!!

ChickAzul on Oct 22, 2007

updated

Jen on Jan 07, 2008

Some one in another topic was looking for this thread so... bump!

bdelisio on Jan 11, 2008

Does anyone know what the disc badge (#36) is for?

miranoriel on Jan 14, 2008

@bdelisio: That one, I believe, is for Oslo deliveries...

Jen on Mar 04, 2008

New badge? There is a family, Amsterdam, with 10 icon sets tagged as that family, but is there a badge made for it yet?

Modena is really getting close with 9 total sets too.

robbyrice on Mar 04, 2008

I'm sure the chefs have made the badge, I just don't think that we've seen it yet.

miranoriel on Mar 04, 2008

You can take a look at all the pretty badges and their values at IB Dashboard. :)

miranoriel on Mar 04, 2008

LOL Yeah after I posted that I thought, "waaaait, that's Jen..." *resounding foreheadsmack* XD

More coffee, confound it! :D

Jen on Mar 04, 2008

I tried checking by filename and nada for badge 44. I wonder if they've changed the naming convention, just not uploaded them yet, or whether they've been made yet -- the suspense!

Psy2k on Mar 05, 2008

Did anyone else noticed this new badge? I thought it was for Amsterdam but I didn't get it as I have 10 amsterdam deliveries!

miranoriel on Mar 05, 2008

@Psy2k: Whoa! That's awesome! Where did you see it?

Psy2k on Mar 05, 2008

I see it viewing badges urls (http://www.iconbuffet.com/badges/46.gif). The number before .gif represents each badge, trying to find if the Amsterdam badge is implemented! I have not seen this badge in anyone yet! Hope that this one is for Amsterdam and has not been implemented yet!

debbye on Mar 05, 2008

i'm thinking that it is the badge for Amsterdam because of the blue outline. i've been doing the "log out/log in dance" a few times a day … waiting!

debbye on Mar 05, 2008

Jen on Mar 05, 2008

Good find Psy2k, exactly what I was after. :)

Psy2k on Mar 05, 2008

If that is the badge for Amsterdam why it's not enabled yet?

bjendrick on Mar 05, 2008

The one non-uniform badge was 44, as it was a PNG. Seen here.

Psy2k on Mar 06, 2008

As we all wait for the Amsterdam badge to be enabled, had anyone figured out what this badge is for?

debbye on Mar 06, 2008

nope

miranoriel on Mar 06, 2008

Maybe for an insane number of referrals?

Wile Vip-micro on Mar 06, 2008

I think for something like 500 referals ...

Psy2k on Mar 06, 2008

500 referrals? Thats a crazy number! The bonus points should be many for that badge! I thought that jsfreire has reached that number of referrals!

elnitido52 on Mar 06, 2008

500 referrals - Teej is the only one with so many referrals...he doesn't have the badge...

Psy2k on Mar 06, 2008

I hope that its not for 1000 referrals...

elnitido52 on Mar 06, 2008

That's insane...

debbye on Mar 07, 2008

#2 post:

Chefs, please release our badges before you go home.

Oh … ya! Please release IB Anniversary, too!

:-)

tamashii on Mar 19, 2008

I, personally, think that any number of referrals over 100 is a bit pointless. Getting points/stamps for these numbers, I believe, only fuels "empty" accounts (not saying they are dupes or ill-gotten, just that they are inactive, useless accounts ultimately).

As it turns out, while I have over 50 referrals, I somewhat feel the same way regarding referrals over 50 and believe that points/stamps for referrals over this number is fuel for more inactive "members." I certainly believe this for over 100.

All that said, I absolutely believe that #45 is, in fact, for yet even more referrals. It's a galaxy - the natural progression from a large, ringed planet. No doubt there are around 5000 points given for reaching such a high number of referrals (which I am guessing to be in the 4 digits).

thedudedean on Apr 05, 2008

ChickAzul you need to update this, almost every VIP has the tri-diamond, there are a few new city medals and someone got the 100K.
