[FAQ] Stamps
Please feel free to point out things I've missed (links to the source blog where info came up would be appreciated)
Q: What are stamps?
A: Stamps are the postal currency of the IconBuffet world. If you have 'em, you can send stuff. If you don't, you can't. And different sets will cost you different amounts of Stamps to send. Bronze sets cost 1 Stamp, Silvers cost 3, and Golds cost 5. You'll get new Stamps for every delivery you receive and for every friend you refer. It's your choice whether you want to save them up or spend them right away. You can accumulate as many stamps as you like; there's no limit.

Q: How many stamps do I get for accepting a delivery?
A: Every delivery you receive nets you 5 stamps, whether it's the fresh delivery from the chef or a delivery from a friend.
Q: How many stamps do I get for friend referrals?
A: For every friend you bring into the IconBuffet community, you now earn an extra 15 stamps. That's in addition to the points, so you get both the 50 points and the 15 stamps.
Q: If I send some icons and they are not accepted, I don't get a refund of stamps?
A: Yes, your stamps will be returned in 7 days if the delivery has not been accepted or if it was denied.
Q: I’ve sent out a lot of deliveries, but I still have no points, what’s up?
A: If they haven’t accepted the sets, you won’t have any points. The stamps will come back eventually.
Q: I have a lot of stamps and I can’t seem to be able to use them up. What do I do?
A: Just looking through my own friends list, I see a number of new users who need sets and have the tokens to accept some. I know regular users can't see tokens, but it seems to me the best points-earning strategy would be to comb the blog forum and friends lists and dump stamps on any and all members you can find (while keeping a few on hand for opportunities that might arise later). Some will come back to you, but some will earn points. Either way, I'd think keeping your stamps relatively close to zero most of the time would be the way to go.

Q: But I don’t want to spam my friends, is there another way?
A: I think some of you may need to get over your fear of spamming. ;) On here, we just call that "generosity."
I just made around 150 points on my dummy account. Here's how: I checked the Recent Traders list and some friends lists for folks who 1) lacked an avatar and/or 2) had names I didn't recognize from the forum.
I loaded the profiles up in separate tabs and checked each one. If the user only had a few sets, I dropped a Gold on 'em (I was in a hurry, and wanted to burn through stamps quickly) and closed the tab. I just kept going until I was out of stamps, and waited for the points to roll in.
I'm not advocating blind deliveries so much as "educated guess deliveries" -- the new members aren't too hard to sniff out.
Finding the newbies is going to get a lot easier in the not-too-distant future, hopefully.

Q: What is the "token-stamp-point" relation?
A: For most sets, you get 10 points for each stamp value you send out, so if you send a set that uses up 5 stamps (and it’s accepted), you will get 50 points. In order for the set to be accepted, your friend will need 5 tokens.
The exception to that is the Diamond sets, which require 10 stamps to send out but if it is accepted by your friend, you will get 250 points, so the relation is as follows:
Bronze sets = 1 tokens to receive – 1 stamps to send – 10 points earned for successfully sending it
Silver sets = 3 tokens to receive – 3 stamps to send – 30 points earned for successfully sending it
Gold sets = 5 tokens to receive – 5 stamps to send – 50 points earned for successfully sending it
Diamond set - 10 tokens to receive - 10 stamps to send - 250 points earned for successfully sending it

Okay... good to know. I wasn't sure if you received 10 for that one. Thank you, Tam!

You only get five for any set you receive, including diamond.
