@rossanyl--didn't know we had to send an email to cancel--I thought it would expire automatically, but I just sent one anyway.

The chefs did state earlier that it would not auto-renew.

@Betty, anti: Mine is/was a monthly renewal and it was automatic. So for this case, we need to send an email. I don't know about annual renewal...

I do not remember getting a renewal reminder, but then again it might have automatically made it into my spam folder (which I empty regularly).

Debbye, I have been totally against joining any other group outside of The Pirates. However I will make IB Ex-VIP an exception (at least for now).

OK, I get it, the mass depreciation of the "big kids" is just another milestone. :)
It will be a different experience, I have never been without all the sets, and tokens may start to mean something to me now. Could be interesting. :)

@louiemctool - that was a neat idea. I got a chuckle out of it.

I will share my experience of how the VIP annual renewal went:

1) there was no reminder email to let you know that you were about to expire.
2) on the day before your scheduled refill, you will lose your status. My refill date was the 9th, on the 8th I lost my status and went to -2 tokens until my old (pre-VIP) refill date of the 17th.

@gswd Thanks for posting your experience.
My VIP refresh date is 1 day after my original refresh date, so according to that pattern I'll have 2 months less 1 day in between token refills—not unfair since I basically got 2 refills together with the upgrade, just an observation of what may be a long spell of tokenlessness.
Right now I can't use the tokens I've got but my VIP (which came courtesy of mattdetails's contest and debbye's debbye-ness) expires in May and maybe by then there will be more to spend them on.

My renewal date was the 16th April, its now the 19th and i havnt received any emails from the chefs. My VIP status remains but i havnt paid anything.
