Blinksale: Easy, painless, online invoicing for small businesses

Virb VS. MySpace

This is a pretty straight forward comparison. Do you prefer MySpace or Virb (virb.com for those unknowing...shame on you). Personally, MySpace is overwhelmed with teens and unwanted SPAM. It's Virb for me.

Look me up if you're on: virb.com/mcclure411

I agree with you on MySpace, but I have never heard of Virb. But then again I hadn't heard of Twitter either until a few days ago. My goodness, I learn something new every time I visit the IB Blog Forum.

Is virb still invite only?

Either way - Virb wins. No question.

No. Virb.com is open to anyone. Come join.

justG on Apr 13, 2007

Oh god, another one? Gah.

Just joined Virb -- wow, what a difference from MySpace! The real question, though, is will it catch on? I'm not so sure, but time will tell.

Find me at virb.com/fredosan.

virb all the way. I was a beta invite and virb rocks the socks off any social network. It's not going anywhere either. Not only will it stick, but it'll rule too.

I ♥ Virb°

Gotta show Virb the love. They're our peeps.

Virb by a mile.

Virb looks way better, but I haven't added anything to mine yet. I just heard of it about a week ago. My blank Virb

Virb looks great, thanks for the heads up on it.

Virb ftw!

ambershaffer on May 29, 2007

Virb looks promising...not that I ever do anything with my social network profiles =)
Anybody heard of mog.com? It's a little slow sometimes, but it's got a cool music twist (without all the band spam you get on MySpace). You can display your last 10 played songs on your computer, find people who are listening to similar artists, most the blogs are show/song/album review oriented and of course you can listen to lots of music.

deaf258 on May 29, 2007

Virb˚ for sure!

It's moi!

justG on May 29, 2007

@ambershaffer: Yep, heard of mog but haven't joined yet (at least, not that I recall). There are too many of these social networks now, especially those dedicated to music discovery. I was happy when I found ilike, thinking that last.fm could use some competition, but I keep going back to last.fm... they just do it right.

Virb may be ahead of the pack both in terms of features and visual appeal, but if anyone is going to send Myspace packing, it's going to be Facebook - it lacks some of Virb's flexibility, but the new Platform apps make it a very usable social network.

Winnopeg on May 30, 2007

Virb over MySpace, but I use Facebook myself.

thedudedean on Aug 09, 2007

I am starting to get spammed by bands on virb. I wish good local bands were on Virb. I don't take bands that aren't in my area. More people are on myspace. Facebook has its issues (and looks just as bad as myspace IMHO).

danielsemper on Aug 09, 2007

Virb is GRRRREAT !!!

Enough said.

AvantReese on Aug 09, 2007

Virb° for me. virb.com/reese, I'm even using IB icons on my page. But I do still have a myspace, well sort of.

(Note: If you send me a friend request I will probably decline it, nothing personal, I just like to add people I really know.)

ambershaffer, Virb has very similar features. It tracks the songs you listen to with an iTunes plugin and displays them on your page along with charts for you most listened to artists/albums. And you can find users who listen to the same artists if they have them listed in their "personality tags".
